Hello!

I am Aidan, 28 years old from Scotland. I am a telecommunications engineer, currently on a year out from work and travelling the world. I have previous experience in gardening, landscaping, general labouring and DIY construction.

I am currently travelling with my partner, Hannah, who is 30 and a History teacher also from Scotland. She is an experienced au-pair, qualified secondary school teacher and has extensive experience working with children of all ages, including those with additional support needs. Previously, she worked as a travel agent and is proficient with computer use, is very organised and also competent in assisting with DIY/maintenance etc. Hannah is a vegetarian but happy to arrange her own food if need be.

We both live an active and fit lifestyle and are not afraid of hard work. We are both animal lovers who love meeting new people and embracing new experiences. We are looking for fulfilling workaway placements where we can contribute meaningfully and learn new skills, whilst immersing ourselves in the beauty of Sardinia and engaging with local culture. We are currently travelling in our 1994 VW campervan - arriving in Sardinia late September (from Corsica) - and are happy to accept placements which require us to reside within our own van.

More details about my language interests
We would love to learn some basic Italian. I (Aidan) have very little language skills aside from English, but am keen to learn some Italian while staying in Sardinia. Hannah has some very basic French skills (enough to get by when necessary, usually) and has Italian heritage so is very keen to learn some more of that. We would both like to reach a stage where we are comfortable engaging with locals in shops/restaurants/asking for directions etc and communicating without relying too much on Google Translate! We also want to show respect and appreciation for the area we are visiting by showing effort to learn some language.

What else ...

We are both quite social people who want to meet new people and really experience life. We enjoy listening to music, playing board games and adventuring.

I have played rugby since childhood and Hannah is an avid gym-goer who is training for a half marathon in October, so we are both active and like to keep fit and excercise regularly.

I enjoy cooking and Hannah enjoys baking - a great combination in the kitchen!

Hannah is also a keen reader and aspiring writer, so enjoys spending some quiet time alone focusing on this.

I am interested in developing photography and videography skills with a new camera and drone which I am still learning to use but enjoying the process.
