Hi, I’m Sarah from the UK.

I’ve spent the past five years travelling across Southeast Asia, including Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. I’m currently based in Goa until July/August and am looking to connect with eco-conscious, creative, and community-driven projects.

I enjoy being hands-on and adaptable in my work. I’m happy to get involved in gardening, land care, and general maintenance, as well as supporting day-to-day operations in hostels, retreats, or shared spaces. I value simple, grounded living and enjoy contributing wherever I’m needed.

Creativity is a big part of my life. I’m an artist working in an expressive, abstract style, and I’ve painted murals for hostels in Sri Lanka. I also play guitar and enjoy bringing a relaxed, creative energy into shared environments.

Alongside this, I have a strong professional background in business administration and operations from my time working in London. More recently, I spent six months supporting a tattoo studio and creative business in Colombo, where I helped redesign systems, manage accounts, and improve overall structure. I’m comfortable contributing both creatively and behind the scenes.

I love cooking and enjoy preparing meals inspired by North and South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, often with my own twist.

I lead an active and balanced lifestyle, with a daily yoga and meditation practice, and I appreciate spaces that value mindfulness, wellbeing, and community.

Currently, I’m studying a part-time BSc in Biology and developing research focused on mindfulness and mental health, which I fit flexibly around my travels.

I’m looking to be part of a positive, open-minded environment where I can contribute, collaborate, and continue learning.

I am a qualified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language and I ran my own online business during lockdown teaching English to adults. I have also helped many people with their English as I have travelled! I known quite a bit of Bengali and I would like to learn Hindi!

More details about your skills

- Painting - basic murals and decorating (I completely re-decorated a shabby hotel room in Arambol, including filling cracks in walls, base coat, purple colour). I have also done a few murals for hostels in Sri Lanka.

- Cooking - Western, Sri Lanka, North Indian, South India. I prefer to experiment with fresh local produce rather than eating out when I travel!

- Business infrastructure and administration - Accounts, sales strategy, process improvement, basic website design, social media, people management. (I spent 6-months with a tattoo studio in Colombo backdating their accounts, setting up a virtual reception / booking system, creating new business processes and re-designing the interior of the studio)

- Gardening and manual labour - I love plants!

- Bar tending, waitress, socialising with guests!

- I LOVE cats. I also get on pretty well with dogs!

I am a very peaceful person. I try to help people when I can. I like to socialise and I LOVE to dance, but also need a few hours every day to myself to read and study and be alone with my thoughts. I don’t drink anymore. I’m living a pretty clean and healthy lifestyle
