They sold hand-made crafts , coffee, rice, chocolate, Organic tea, dried fruit, spices etc on behalf of the people or organisations that made them.We find we get along well with many cultures and people of all ages.
Has cleaned houses for a living, home care and cooking, worked on an orchid farm , office work, and enjoys outside work .
We both treasure family times together, and love our grandchildren and dear friends.
We have done a lot of house-sitting. Twice Geoff and I were called back to look after a blind cat, along with their livestock , a goat and two teenagers, who lived at the back of the property. We grew very fond of them..
One house-sit was for a whole year, early in our married life in a rural setting. We were totally thrown into the deep end, being townies, we had to learning how to pump water up from the creek , how to use a wood-stove, having no vacuum cleaner, just a broom, no TV, no lawnmower, just a hand-mower, using a composting toilet, and an outdoor shower. Cold in the wintertime!! Hedgehogs loved to snuffle around at night time, devouring the plants and roses. So frustrating!, There were
two cats, Molly and Mindy, characters in their own right, whom we assume were named after two famous children's books!
In saying all that, we enjoyed the stunning, peaceful rural views, gazing at the incredible display of stars in the night sky, the gorgeous fresh air, and having more time with each other. All these made it all so worthwhile. It is a time we will forever hold dear in our hearts.
In closing, we would like you to know, we both are willing to learn new skills and we easily adapt to a new surroundings.
We would love the opportunity to get to meet you and help you with your everyday chores or in the garden, or even do another house-sit.
