    Description

    Hello!
I’m a 27-year-old woman living with my parents, Carmen and Antonio, in a large countryside house near Málaga, in the south of Spain. We’re looking for kind, responsible and open-hearted people to join us and help out around the house in exchange for accommodation, delicious food, and a rich cultural experience.

Our home is surrounded by nature — a peaceful place with fruit trees, gardens, and lots of little tasks to be done: pruning trees, gardening, cleaning outdoor areas, or occasionally painting and basic maintenance. Any help keeping our space cared for is truly appreciated.

My mother, Carmen, is an incredible cook who loves to prepare traditional Spanish meals and share her recipes. If you enjoy cooking or are curious to learn, this will be a very tasty and fun experience!

My father, Antonio, is an anthropologist who enjoys sharing the history, traditions, and culture of Málaga and Andalusia. He’s full of knowledge and stories, and always happy to talk if you're interested in learning.

From time to time, my elderly grandmother lives with us. She has dementia, so we may occasionally need a little help or company for her — mostly just someone calm and kind.

We also have a lovely dog named Nía — she’s sweet, calm, and used to being around people and animals. She’ll likely be your best friend while you're here.

I speak English and can help you settle in, but my parents speak only Spanish — so this is a wonderful opportunity if you’re looking to improve or practice your Spanish in an authentic and warm family setting. I don’t spend much time at home due to work, but you’ll be very well accompanied by my parents (and Nía, of course!).

We’re hoping to welcome someone who enjoys being part of a family rhythm, values cultural exchange, and is happy to lend a hand where needed. If you’re looking for a peaceful and heartfelt experience in the Andalusian countryside, we’d love to hear from you.

Our way of life is slow, close to nature and rooted in local traditions. You’ll have the chance to share meals with us, cook alongside my mother (who loves to explain each step of her recipes), and enjoy long conversations with my father, who’s always happy to talk about Spanish culture and Andalusian history. We often go to the local market or small town nearby, where you can get a taste of the local lifestyle and maybe even join us for a village fiesta if the timing is right!

We can teach you about traditional Spanish cooking, gardening and caring for trees and plants in a Mediterranean climate. You’ll also learn about local customs, family life in rural Spain, and (if you're curious) a bit of anthropology, thanks to my father. If you're interested in elder care or in working with animals, you’ll also learn through observation and light participation.

We love the idea of opening our home to different ways of seeing the world. Welcoming people from other cultures helps us grow, understand, and connect. We hope to learn new perspectives, maybe try a dish from your country, discover your stories and customs, and build friendships across borders.
