    Description

My name is Angelius, but everyone calls me Domes.

I am a husband, entrepreneur, storyteller, and community builder. I believe that every photograph, every conversation, and every act of kindness can leave a lasting impact.

Professionally, I run a wedding photography and printing business, where I have the privilege of capturing one of the most meaningful days in people's lives. Every wedding tells a unique story, and my goal is to preserve those memories with creativity and authenticity.

My wife is a dedicated nurse who also follows her passion as a professional makeup artist. Together, we combine creativity, compassion, and hard work to serve our community while building a meaningful life.

I graduated with a degree in English Literature, which has opened doors beyond photography. I also work as an English teacher, helping others develop confidence through language and communication.

One of my greatest dreams has been to create something that connects people with nature and purpose. That dream became reality when I built a small bungalow retreat in the heart of the jungle. More than just a place to stay, it is a space where guests can experience the beauty of nature, learn about sustainable farming, and take part in projects that make a positive difference.

Our mission goes far beyond hospitality. We organize English classes for orphaned children, grow vegetables and fruit, and encourage sustainable living while supporting the local community. These projects are made possible with the help of our dedicated local team member, who plays an important role in coordinating our daily activities and community programs.

Everything I do is connected by one purpose: creating meaningful experiences. Whether I am photographing a wedding, teaching English, welcoming guests to our jungle retreat, or working alongside local families, I hope to inspire people, build genuine relationships, and leave every place better than I found it.

For me, success is not only measured by business growth, but by the lives we touch, the opportunities we create, and the legacy we leave for future generations.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Imagine waking up to the sounds of birds, surrounded by lush tropical jungle, while becoming part of a small local community on the beautiful island of Nias, Indonesia.

Our place is more than just a farm or a bungalow retreat—it is a place where people from different cultures come together to learn, share, and inspire one another.

During your stay, you'll experience authentic daily life with local people, discover the rich traditions and unique culture of Nias, enjoy homemade Indonesian meals, and embrace a slower, nature-based lifestyle. You'll work alongside our local team, learning about organic farming, growing tropical fruits and vegetables, and sustainable living in a peaceful jungle environment.

If you love the ocean, you're in the perfect place. Nias Island is internationally recognized as one of the world's best surfing destinations, famous for its legendary waves and warm tropical waters. On your days off, you can relax on beautiful beaches, explore hidden waterfalls, or catch unforgettable waves—whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer.

One of the most rewarding parts of staying with us is connecting with local children. Volunteers are welcome to help teach English through games, conversations, music, art, and other creative activities. Your encouragement can help build their confidence while creating meaningful friendships that go beyond language.

We believe that cultural exchange is about giving as much as receiving. We'd love to hear your stories, learn about your country, traditions, language, recipes, music, and ideas. In return, we'll share our culture, our way of life, and the warmth of Indonesian hospitality. Around the dinner table, on the farm, or by the campfire, every conversation becomes an opportunity to learn from one another.

Our dream is to create a place where people from around the world feel at home—a place where friendships grow, cultures connect, and everyone leaves with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for nature, community, and simple living.

Come as a volunteer, leave as family.

I would love to welcome Workawayers who are passionate about nature, farming, and making a positive impact in the local community.

We are looking for volunteers who can help with organic farming, planting vegetables and fruit trees, maintaining the garden, and caring for our jungle retreat. We also appreciate volunteers who enjoy teaching English to local children, especially orphaned kids, through fun and creative activities.

No previous experience is required—just a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and respect for local culture and the environment. In return, you'll have the opportunity to experience life in the jungle, connect with local people, learn about sustainable farming, and be part of meaningful community projects.

Together, we can create unforgettable experiences while making a real difference for the community and the environment.

We also love preparing healthy, home-cooked meals using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables and fruits grown on our farm whenever possible. Sharing meals together is an important part of our community, and we hope you'll enjoy experiencing authentic Indonesian flavors while living a healthy and sustainable lifestyle with us.

    What else ...

For volunteers who would like to explore the beauty of Nias Island on their own, we provide motorbike rental at an affordable price, lower than many other rental options in the area.

Having your own motorbike gives you the freedom to discover hidden beaches, traditional villages, waterfalls, local markets, and other beautiful destinations around the island at your own pace. We are also happy to share our local knowledge and recommend the best places to visit, eat, and experience authentic Nias culture.

We want our volunteers to feel free to explore, create their own adventures, and make the most of their time on this amazing island.
