    Description

    Hello!

We are a farm animal sanctuary located in Estrie, Quebec, Canada. We are home to over 20 animals rescued from the food industry, namely cows, pigs, goats, sheep and ponies. We are also home to 3 friendly dogs and two cats.

We are looking for people, either single or a couple, to come and join us for a minimum of a month, to help us with daily tasks (see below). If you are the right fit there might be a more permanent place for you. We are looking for hardworking and diligent volunteers!

During your time with us, your tasks will include: feeding the animals, cleaning their enclosures, and repair/ building/ maintenance work. There are also often different projects and events (like annual fundraisers etc) that we might need your help with as well as any expertise you may have to offer in other domains.

Your schedule here will be different than at other Workaways due to the nature of the work. Our days typically begin at 8am and can end around 7pm, as the animals need to be fed both early in the morning and later in the evening. There will be time for you to have between 2 and 3 hours to yourself in the afternoons. Additionally, you will be given one day off for every 5 days worked.

You will be provided with a private room for the duration of your stay, with a shared bathroom. We are looking for people who have experience living in communal spaces, who are neat and respectful of others. There is WiFi available on site. At the moment there are 2 people living on site: Catherine,. the owner/founder of the sanctuary and Teresa, a long term volunteer.

Please only apply if you are vegetarian or vegan (you would be expected to eat vegan whilst at the sanctuary). We are hoping to find someone who shares our commitment to animals and the environment.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
