    Description

    HI!

We are looking for workaway volunteers with an up to date clear Criminal Records Check. The CRC you used to enter Canada is perfect. I need a screenshot please. Thank you for your understanding. 💜

My family of 2 boys, a young lady and I live on a large acreage in Langford. We have a large garden, chickens for eggs, cows for milk and pigs for pork. We use the meat from our cows and pigs, milk from our cows, eggs from our chickens and produce from our garden in our home.
We have hosted people from all over the world and we love the diversity of language and cultures. I'm an experienced host with over 13 years of opening my home to others.

We need help moving, building, setting up and daily animal care, too. There's a self contained 26' trailer on the property now for housing our farm helpers.

I work on site as the main care provider for the owner of the property- a young lady with Downs Syndrome. Some supervision and light meal prep is all that is needed here. No personal care.

We prefer long stays due to the nature of the help, but email me with your availability. Preference given to those willing to commit to 1 or more months.

We are surrounded by nature and it's a great place to live if you like that! Bikes and trails close to the house. Bus stop is a short walk away.

Fall/winter tasks include feeding and caring for our chickens, pigs, and cows and milking our girls. Garden prep for spring starts in the fall and again in February.

Spring and summer tasks include feeding/ watering animals, milking the cow(s), building fences, veterinary care of our animals, gardening, weeding, haying, and help with harvesting and preserving produce. Construction and building skills are a bonus, if you have them! There are always things to do on the farm. We enjoy spending time with our farm helpers and doing fun things too!

A group of chickens—various colors, mostly brown and white—are inside a sunlit, rustic chicken coop with wooden walls, dirt floor, and some nesting boxes.
A curious cow sticks its tongue out, licking its nose through a wire fence. The background is blurry with hints of trees and sunlight, creating a playful scene.
A brown cow with a blue halter stands in a sunlit outdoor area. The background shows green trees, a fence, and blurred distant buildings.
The image depicts two piglets standing in a pile of hay, viewed from above through a rusty metal fence. The piglets are reddish-brown with black spots.
