    Description

    Hello!

We are a young Australian family looking for a kind, reliable and energetic au pair to join us in two locations - Bowral Southern Highlands 1.45 hours from Sydney and on our beautiful family farm in rural New South Wales.

Our family includes Mum (Sarah), Dad (Jeremy), our happy little boy Frank (18 months old), and we are expecting another baby boy in August. We also have friendly farm dogs and are surrounded by sheep, wide open spaces and beautiful countryside.

Jeremy works on the family farm and Sarah runs an interior design business. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and would like to become part of our family life.

We live on a large working farm near Boorowa and are also moving into a lovely home in Bowral in the Southern Highlands. You will have the opportunity to experience both country Australian life and explore one of Australia’s most beautiful regions.

We are looking for help mainly with childcare for Frank, preparing simple meals for him, taking him on outings, helping with playtime and assisting with light household tasks related to the children. We would also love someone who enjoys being outdoors, visiting parks, farms and local towns.

Accommodation will be a private room and all meals are provided. We are very flexible and happy for you to join family meals or organise your own food if preferred.

A driver’s licence and your own car are essential as we live in a regional area.

For travellers completing regional work requirements, there may also be opportunities to assist with farm-related activities and occasional dog sitting when we travel. We are happy to discuss whether aspects of your stay may contribute toward eligible regional work requirements where applicable.

We would love to welcome someone who is positive, caring, responsible and excited about experiencing authentic Australian family and farm life.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Sarah, Jeremy, Frank and baby brother-to-be 😊

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are looking for a friendly, responsible and proactive person to help our family with childcare and light household tasks.

The main role is spending time with our happy toddler Frank (18 months old) while Mum works part-time from home and prepares for the arrival of our second baby in August. This may include playing, reading, outdoor activities, trips to local parks, preparing simple meals and snacks, and helping keep children’s areas tidy.

We are not looking for heavy cleaning, but appreciate help with everyday family tasks such as folding washing, unpacking groceries and keeping shared spaces organised.

A driver’s licence and car are essential as we live in a regional area and enjoy outings with Frank.

There may also be opportunities for additional farm-related activities, dog sitting when we travel, or helping with simple tasks in Mum’s interior design business if that interests you.

We are hoping to find someone who enjoys family life, loves children, is happy to become part of our household and would like to experience authentic Australian country living.

For travellers completing regional work requirements, we are happy to discuss opportunities to spend time on our family farm and assist with farm-related activities where appropriate.

  • Help

    Help

We are primarily looking for an au pair/nanny to help with our young family. Most of the help will involve spending time with our toddler Frank (18 months old), playing with him, taking him on outings, helping with meals and keeping him engaged while Mum works a few hours each day or cares for our newborn baby arriving in August.

    Typical tasks may include:

    • Playing with Frank indoors and outdoors
    • Going on walks, trips to parks, libraries and local activities
    • Preparing simple meals and snacks for him
    • Helping tidy toys and children’s areas
    • Light household help such as folding washing, unpacking groceries and keeping shared spaces tidy
    • Occasional babysitting by arrangement

We are not looking for heavy cleaning. We already have professional cleaners and are more interested in finding someone who enjoys children and family life.

A driver’s licence and car are essential as we live in a regional area and you may take Frank on outings.

Depending on your interests, there may also be opportunities to assist with:
    • Looking after our friendly dogs when we travel
    • Helping around the farm during busy periods
    • Learning about Australian farming life
    • Assisting with simple administrative or creative tasks in Sarah’s interior design business

Our ideal arrangement is Monday to Thursday mornings and afternoons, with plenty of free time to explore the local area, meet friends, travel and enjoy your Australian experience.

We are looking for someone who is warm, responsible, proactive and genuinely enjoys being around young children.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We can offer accommodation in two beautiful country locations depending on the time of year and our family’s schedule.

Our main home is a large family house in Bowral in the Southern Highlands. The house is thoughtfully designed with the family bedrooms located at one end of the home and guest accommodation at the other, providing plenty of privacy and personal space. You will have your own private bedroom and access to a bathroom, with all the comforts needed to feel at home.

At times we may also spend time on our family farm near Boorowa. There, accommodation is in a separate cottage-style area with a private bedroom, bathroom and its own living space, giving you independence while still being part of family life.

We want our au pair to feel comfortable, welcome and have their own space to relax and enjoy downtime.

Meals are provided and you are welcome to join us for family meals, or prepare your own food if you prefer. We have reliable internet, beautiful outdoor spaces and easy access to local cafes, shops, walking trails and country towns.

Both locations offer a genuine Australian country lifestyle, with the added benefit of comfortable accommodation, privacy and a family environment.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are hoping to find someone available from mid-August 2026, although we can be flexible for the right person.

We are expecting our second baby in early August and will spend approximately two weeks in Sydney around the birth. Depending on timing, you may be able to arrive shortly before we return to Bowral, or settle into the house while we are away. We are happy to discuss arrangements with the right person.

We value kindness, open communication, initiative and a positive attitude. We are a relaxed family but appreciate people who are respectful, reliable and happy to contribute to family life.

Bowral is a beautiful town with cafes, restaurants, markets, wineries, walking trails and easy train access to Sydney. The family farm offers a very different experience, with wide open spaces, sheep, country pubs and authentic Australian farm life.

We think this role would suit someone who enjoys children, loves the outdoors, is interested in Australian culture and is looking for more than just accommodation — someone who would enjoy becoming part of a family for a period of time.

We are excited to welcome the right person and help make their Australian experience memorable.
