    Description

    Hello, fellow travelers.
My name is Tomoko and I live in Hokkaido, Japan. I have been traveling for a year with my son Kotaro.

We didn't know about workaway before we started our journey. However, we have had great experiences through workaway, staying in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. We stayed with 17 families over the course of one year and were able to experience local life.

We are planning to return to Japan on May 18th. I plan to stay in Japan until September.

Our house is located in a small village in Hokkaido. It's such a wonderful place. I love it there. I want travelers to experience life in a small Japanese village. We also hope to engage in cultural exchange with travelers, just as we have experienced. What we want is to exchange language and culture, teach cooking, go hiking together, and experience local life together.

We are passionate about learning languages. My son is homeschooled. He doesn't go to school. We would like to study your language together. In particular, we would like to improve my English skills.

We are glad that you are interested in us. If you don't understand anything, please feel free to ask any questions via message. We are looking forward to seeing you.

We live in the big house where my grandfather lived. There are no beds, but there are Japanese-style futons.

There is a large family room on the first floor and a room for two on the second floor. It is possible to stay as a family or as a couple.

The toilet and bath are shared with family members. The kitchen and refrigerator are also shared. You can also cook your favorite dishes. We are very happy if you like to cook.

Three meals will be provided, but if you have a specific meal you would like to eat, you can prepare it yourself. We are not vegetarians. If you require a vegetable-only meal, please let us know in advance.
