    Description

We are a Swiss and Scottish family living in Normandy, just an hour away from Paris by train. Farquhar (46) is a Scottish musician, house renovation genius & gardener, and I am a hotels manager (34), we have an amazingly happy little daughter (2,5).

Our house has a nice garden, a small summer pool, some chickens, and a few fruit trees. Home, we have guitare, piano, fiddle At the moment Farquhar is pretty much into darts.

Help with gardening would be awesome, especially if someone has pruning or landscaping skills and likes to take initiatives. Help could be for example : pruning, weeding, pull out roots, clearing ivy and tidying up piles of leaves/ sticks…

For your stay, you would be staying in a separated chalet in the garden, which is the size of a studio. It has a kitchenette and a small cabin with a sink. While there is electricity, water and a good heating system, there is no WiFi nor toilets / shower. For that you will be welcome to come in the main house. *** Please be aware that it’s a 140 double bed tucked in a corner. For two people, we suggest couples or very close friends for a comfortable stay ;)

If you are up for it, we offer Scottish music lessons and occasional party. You can also use our electric bike to explore nearby villages, and we can give you a lift to the train station (it’s a quick 10-minute drive) for a Paris visit.

So you know, we mainly speak English at home :)
I (Claire) work in Paris every weekday while Farquhar is taking care of June home. In the weekends we are very last minute to decide our plans, we like to go with the flow !

If you come and go by train, it is easier for us if you arrive between 08h30-14h00 // 17h00 and 21h00 (because of June’s sleep time).

Our house is just a 20-minute drive from Monet's house, and this region has historically attracted many painters who found inspiration in its scenic landscapes. Additionally, Farquhar is talented musician and construction genius who can provide lessons in music, gardening, and construction skills :)

    What else ...

We can drop you at train station to visit Paris or anywhere within 20 min car drive. There are many castle (30+), small charming towns including Monet 's town, many nice walks in the forest or bike ride near the river, you can also enjoy a good English book in the garden with your feet in the swimming pool (at best in summer ;) ). Ah, and of course : some nice parties home with us !
