Description
Welcome to a family-run countryside stay on the island of Gotland, Sweden.
The farm is owned and run by Kickan and Per, with their daughter Ida working as an employee. During busy periods, we are also supported by a small team of seasonal staff.
This is our first season hosting Workawayers, but we have previous experience of international exchange. Earlier, when the farm was primarily focused on agriculture, Kickan and Per hosted colleagues from around the world through international agricultural exchange associations (IAEA).
We welcome guests from Sweden and abroad throughout spring, summer and autumn, and we also work with groups and events. Even when the farm is fully booked, the farm is run in a personal and hands-on way, where helpers become part of everyday life.
Surrounded by nature, with the Närsån canal running alongside the farm, we offer a peaceful countryside setting.
Helpers share daily routines, meals and the rhythm of life on the farm through the Swedish seasons on Gotland.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Cultural exchange is a natural part of everyday life. We host both international and Swedish guests, and Workawayers meet people from different backgrounds on a daily basis.
Through their work and time at the farm, helpers interact with guests, seasonal staff and the local community.
We are happy to share knowledge about life on Gotland, hospitality and sustainable tourism, and to help Workawayers get to know the island during their stay.

As a Workawayer, your tasks are mainly connected to the daily work of running a countryside accommodation. This includes helping with guest areas, light cleaning and supporting everyday routines. The position is paid at 150 SEK per hour.
The work is varied, and depending on the season, needs and your interests, tasks may also include outdoor maintenance such as gardening, as well as simple carpentry or maintenance projects for those who enjoy practical work.

What else ...
The farm is located in the parish of När, in southern Gotland. När is a rural area with an active local community and good access to services and activities. Within cycling distance there is a local bakery, restaurants and cafés, a golf course, and a sports area with paddle, tennis and football.
The area offers sandy beaches, swimming spots and coastal scenery, as well as historical sites and nature areas. There are good opportunities for cycling, walking and outdoor activities, and during the summer there are often local events and community activities.
