Description
Hi there! We are a small family living in Eyüp, Istanbul, with a beautiful view of the Golden Horn. Our daughter Arven has just turned 7. She’s full of energy, curious about everything, and has just started learning English.
We (Can & Demet) both work from home in the IT field, so we’ll always be around, but what really matters to us is finding someone who can spend time with Arven, play with her, chat in English, and make learning fun and natural.
Life here is a mix of family moments, city adventures, and sometimes a bit of nature when we go camping. If you enjoy working with kids, being creative, and having fun while sharing your culture, you’ll fit right in.Types of help and learning opportunities

Living with us means being part of a warm, modern family life in Istanbul, with a touch of both Turkish and European lifestyle. We don’t go out much on weekdays, but we often make plans together — and you’re always welcome to join if you’d like. On weekends we enjoy going out for breakfast, exploring the city, or heading to nature for camping trips, which can be a great way to spend time together.
At home, you’ll share meals and conversations with us, and we’re always curious to learn about your culture, language, and way of life. In return, you’ll have the chance to see Istanbul not only as a visitor but also from the perspective of living with a local family — with plenty of room for cultural exchange and shared experiences.Projects involving children

Help
In the mornings, before Arven leaves for school (around 12:30), your main focus will be spending time with her — helping with breakfast, chatting in English, playing games, and supporting her with her school preparations. The idea is to make English a natural part of her daily routine in a fun and relaxed way.
Outside of these hours, there isn’t a fixed list of tasks, but since you’ll be living with us, we’d like you to join in as part of the household. That means helping out in the kitchen, sharing cooking duties, and giving a hand with daily house chores when needed — just like any other member of the family would.
We don’t see you as a guest or staff, but as someone who shares our home. So beyond Arven’s mornings, everything else is more about living together in a natural, balanced way.Languages

You will have your own private room with a double bed on the lower floor. Our daughter Arven also has her room downstairs. We mostly spend our time upstairs in what we call the “party room” — basically our cozy living space where we work and hang out. You’re welcome to use every part of the house freely. The living room downstairs is usually free, so you can relax there, watch TV, or enjoy some quiet time.
Also, since the house is a bit of a smart home, don’t be surprised if the lights or heating turn on automatically — we’ll show you how it all works. And for working, streaming, or just browsing, you’ll have fast and stable 1000 mbit internet. What else ...
We live in Eyüp, a nice area with easy access to all parts of Istanbul. Public transport is close by, so it’s simple to get to places like Sultanahmet, Galata, or Taksim.
In your free time, you can hang out with us — maybe join a seaside walk, a weekend breakfast, or even a camping trip — or just go explore the city on your own. Our home is yours too, so relax and feel comfortable.A little more information
