    Description

Hi there! We’re a small family living in Eyüp, Istanbul, with a beautiful view of the Golden Horn. Our daughter Arven just turned 7 — she’s full of energy, endlessly curious, and has just started learning English.

We (Can & Demet) both work from home in the IT field, so we’ll always be around. What really matters to us is finding someone who can spend time with Arven, play with her, chat in English, and make learning fun and natural.

Life here is a mix of family moments, city adventures, and a bit of nature when we go camping. If you enjoy working with kids, being creative, and having fun while sharing your culture, you’ll fit right in.

Living with us means being part of a warm, modern, open-minded family with a fun and easygoing lifestyle. We don’t go out much on weekdays, but we often make plans together — and you’re welcome to join us when it fits into our plans and you’d like to come along. On weekends, we usually spend time in the city — going out for coffee, walking around, or sometimes heading into nature for a camping trip — a nice way to share moments and experiences together.

At home, you’ll share meals and conversations with us, and we’re always curious to learn about your culture, language, and way of life. In return, you’ll get to see Istanbul not just as a visitor but through the eyes of a local family — full of real exchange and genuine connection.

In the mornings, before Arven leaves for school (around 12:00), your main focus will be spending time with her — helping with breakfast, chatting in English, playing games, and supporting her as she gets ready for the school. She usually wakes up around 08:30, but sometimes she prefers a bit of quiet time on her own after waking up, so we’d like you to be flexible and follow her mood. You’ll mostly spend time with her after 09:00. The idea is simply to make English a natural, easy, and fun part of her mornings.

Outside of these hours, there’s no strict schedule. Since you’ll be living with us, we just expect you to take part in daily life like any other member of the household — helping a bit in the kitchen, sharing cooking, and keeping things tidy when needed. Nothing demanding, just the kind of teamwork that makes living together feel comfortable for everyone.

We don’t use the downstairs area much ourselves — only the kitchen for cooking and meals. The living room, guest room, and downstairs bathroom are mostly for your own use, so we’d appreciate it if you could keep those spaces clean and organized. It’s basically your zone within the house, and we trust you to take good care of it.

We don’t see you as a guest or staff member, but as someone sharing our home and daily rhythm. Beyond the mornings with Arven, everything else is about enjoying a natural, relaxed, and balanced atmosphere together.

You’ll have your own private room with a double bed on the lower floor, along with a second bathroom that you’ll mostly use — so we’d appreciate it if you could keep it clean and tidy. Our daughter Arven also has her room on the same floor, but she mainly goes there just to sleep.

We spend most of our time upstairs in what we call the “party room” — our cozy living space where we work, relax, and hang out. You’re welcome to use all parts of the house freely. The downstairs living room is usually free, so it’s a great place for you to unwind, watch TV, or enjoy some quiet time whenever you like.

Since our home is partly a “smart home,” don’t be surprised if the lights or heating turn on by themselves — everything’s automated! We’ll show you how it all works so you’ll feel comfortable quickly. For working, streaming, or browsing, you’ll have fast and stable 1 Gbps internet throughout the house.

We also have a beautiful terrace with an amazing view of the Golden Horn, and a huge green park nearby where you can enjoy nature, exercise, or take peaceful walks near the Golden Horn, where the sea meets the city. Bus and tram stops are close, so it’s easy to reach central Istanbul and the city’s main historical attractions.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We live in Eyüp, a peaceful and green part of Istanbul with easy access to everywhere. Public transport (bus and tram) is very close, so you can easily reach areas like Sultanahmet, Galata, or Taksim in 20–30 minutes. The neighborhood itself is calm and safe, with cafés, supermarkets, and a large park nearby along the Golden Horn.

We’re both remote workers, so our home is already set up for digital nomads. You’ll have super fast 1000 Mbit internet, a comfy space to work, and plenty of time during the day for your own projects. And yes — unlimited coffee included ☕, because we know that’s basically the fuel of remote life.
