Description
We are a newish permacuture project situated in the south west of France. When we arrived at our property we had big plans! It turn's out we might need a little help to realise these dreams. The aim of our place is to provide a safe space for flora and fauna to flourish. We have approx 6 acres of land that is made of of some beautiful big trees and lots of space we are leaving to look after itself. We are interested in forest gardens, wild flower meadows and no-dig vegetable and flower production.
We have a selection of different animals which we have rescued and come across in our time here, including horses and rabbits, dogs and cats and goats etc.
We are creative people, musicians, computer people, nature enthusiasts, keen cooks and try to live lightly, reducing our waste with a veggie diet.
I think our project here aims to cultivate a holistic system in which we can all thrive and that our children can learn valuable skills and ways of thinking that they can take forward into their adult lives.Types of help and learning opportunities

I think that travellers could come and stay in comfortable accommodation and be welcomed into a family setting in which they could put their skills to good use. They might even learn new skills. Our family speak both French and English so there is a chance to practice both languages. Travellers could also benefit from the beautiful walks in the area and also trips into the Pyrenees mountains which are only an hour away. Music is also a big part of our family life so there are opportunities to brush up on your skills. There is an abundance of local food and drink to be samples and to use for your creative cooking endeavours!
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
Help with no dig gardening, setting up new beds to grow food and flowers.
Planting trees and shrubs
We have a number of animals that need daily care.
There are plenty of maintenance tasks to do. Like fixing tools, and painting projects.
Building animal shelters.
Planning and putting into place rainwater saving ideas is another task to be done!
Help around the house and helping with children would also be a great help.
Help with cooking and inspiration for new ways of cooking would also be greatly received.Languages

English: Fluent
French: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
We are interested in furthering a basic knowledge of German. Different languages interest us and we are keen to share our own.Accommodation
A comfortable and modern two bedroom gite is available. This has a fully functional and equipped kitchen. A shower room. A living area with TV. There is a washing machine. WIFI is available. We are happy to share meals but this can be arranged on a person to person basis upon arrival.
What else ...
Public transport from our village is limited, however once you are in the town (10km away) there is a bus service. Busses go to Tarbes and Auch where there are train-stations. The city of Toulouse is 90 minutes away. The mountains are an hour away. There are plenty of local lakes and forests to walk and enjoy the natural diversity of the area.
We are a busy family with a full life. Ideally we would like people to be happy to spend time with children and muck in and get involved with animals and garden even if it gets a little crazy, which it sometimes does! We are keen to learn from people as well as help people to learn!A little more information
