Description
We are a friendly English family who have been living in France for the past five years. As a busy working family, we’re looking for an individual or couple to join us and help with the day-to-day upkeep of our home.
The help is varied but straightforward and includes basic gardening, pool maintenance, painting, simple DIY, and other general outdoor and household tasks. No specialist skills are required—just a practical attitude, willingness to help, and enjoyment of working outdoors.
In return, you’ll have your own private accommodation with two bedrooms and a bathroom, giving you plenty of space and privacy.
We live in a beautiful, lively village in the Dordogne, with shops, cafés, and other amenities all within walking distance. There are other young people nearby, and the area is perfect for exploring, with rivers, markets, vineyards, and countless places to visit. Bergerac and Périgueux are both just 30 minutes away.
We’re looking for someone who is kind, reliable, easy-going, and happy to become part of family life while also enjoying their own independence. We’d love to share our home, language, and culture and welcome people from around the world. ☀️ -

We are a British family with my husband from Wales, the children speak english and French. Opportunities for integrating with the local village at local Rugby clubs, social activities, local bars and restaurants.
The Dordogne is a Beautiful area very popular with tourists with many attractions in the area. -

Help
Type of help we’re looking for:
We’d love someone who can encourage us with everyday conversational French and give the children a hand with any tricky homework. Light household help, such as the occasional hoovering, mopping, or laundry, would be greatly appreciated, as well as sometimes collecting the children from the village. Mostly, it’s about lending a hand where needed and helping us keep the home running smoothly in a relaxed and friendly way. -

Accommodation
A separate two bedroom area of the main house with its own staircase, bathroom and views. If wanted the ability to decorate is an option and encouraged as it’s currently blue and white.
It’s still above the main kitchen but completely private.
Family meals are made each night and you will be welcome to enjoy them with us, the kitchen and utilities are below and you will be made welcome to use everything. -
What else ...
Lots of walks in the local area, cycling, socialising, lakes, forests, pools, parks, vibrant villages and towns to visit. Welcome to join on family trips or occasionally borrowing a vehicle. No buses but lots of people around to help with travel. Lots of friends and people to meet.
Open to having someone independent or someone who wants to be part of the family. -
