My name is Sofie, and I'm really eager to meet you all and have a wonderful time with you
whilst I can help you explore our beautiful city of Sejong and to meet local friends so you can really experience Korean culture knee-deep.
The city of Sejong is a rapidly emerging city in Korea and is both very relaxing and active at the same time.
Loads of places to have fun and very safe to travel around.(Korea itself is very safe in general)
Also easy to travel to the Capital city, Seoul.(about an hour by bus, train)
Transportation, like every other places throughout Korea, is incredibly convenient and can be found from anywhere and also can go basically every part of the country.
The main purpose of is for language exchange; mostly helping local Korean's english conversation skills and building up friendship amongst people from many different countries, cultures.
While volunteers can also learn/experience a lot about Korean cultures
We offer a relaxing atmosphere for both local Koreans and travelers to build friendship and exchange each other's culture. Especially for travelers, you can get to places where locals like to hang-out which would be even better to find out about the culture.
People here in Sejong will be very much eager to show you around in our city so there will be plenty of opportunites to do so !
Anyone who is happy to help out people with their language practice, who loves meeting new people and willing to expose themselves to new culture are more than welcome to join our community.
Since the transportation throughout Korea can get you anywhere with a cheap price,
you will be able to travel the country very easily whenever you wish so
and that the very city we are located at - Sejong is in Central-Korea, it'll be fairly easy to visit every other city in the country including the capital - Seoul.
You will learn a lot about the country Korea since you will be meeting and having conversations with locals in a daily basis and having local friends can help you a lot to travel to places where you wish to :)
We would happily accept people who are -
- Fluent in English and can help out beginners with their practice.
- Has an open mind and can lead and keep a conversation.
- Used to meeting and talking to a lot of new people.
- Have interest in Korean culture not only K-pop(not a minus factor though)
but who is eager to discover the country itself
- Mature and have a professional attitude.
Since the main goal is helping out people's english speaking skills,
Fluency in English is essential. If you happen to be a non-native speaker, it would be great if you could send us any english related scores or certificates you have.
Though the main goal is Language practice,
the atmosphere itself is pretty much chill and can be a good opportunity to exchange cultures
and able to make a lot of local Korean friends while you're in the country.
During the conversation practice, you are expected to help in any ways to help people to improve their english speaking skills and make them feel comfortable to emerge themselves to an English-environment.
