    Description

We are a small family in Orlando area looking for help around the house and with gardening. Kevin is a pediatrician in a small office nearby, Nicole works at a nature preserve and Finn is a fun 10 year old boy who goes to the local school. We are an active family, frequently exploring new areas and having adventures. We have a senior dog as well.

We are a family that loves to explore our wonderful state. We would love to take day trips with our traveller to visit several Florida towns. Our inquisitive son would love to learn about your culture and also show you about our life. We do like going to theme parks but also greatly enjoy exploring in nature. If you are here during a holiday or festival, we would love to show you how Floridians celebrate! You would be a welcome member of our family and you are invited to attend all activities with us.

  • Help

    Help

General Household help would involve regular cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms, floors and assisting with meal preparations.
Gardening would involve maintaining the wildlfower garden, weeding and general landscape care. This is work you can do at your own schedule once we show you what is needed.
Having people who are comfortable with kids is ideal because our son will definitely ask you to play! He likes video games, lego and animals.

We live in a great little walkable town, Winter Garden. Shops, restaurants and community activities are a short 5-10 minute walk from the house, as is access to a multi-use trail for biking, skating, walking, running. We have bicycles you can borrow. It is 20 minutes drive to downtown Orlando. The Orlando area is home to the big theme parks - DisneyWorld, Universal, Seaworld, but also so much more! There is a great 'foodie' scene here, and a variety of cultural experiences.

One of our favorite things to do in summer is visit the many freshwater springs. We are 75 minutes from the closest beach. We do have another guest bedroom and may have some friends or family come to visit while you are here as well. We would welcome any drivers licensed in their home countries to use the car if we do not need to drive during the time requested or we can try to arrange to drive you.

We have previously hosted Spanish teenagers for 3-6 weeks each and also had a Spanish university student stay for 6 weeks to be a short term babysitter. We managed to visit them in their home cities this past year! We also sometimes rent out the room to medical students who need a place for 4 weeks at a time. We love having guests from all over! We jokingly call our house 'Hotel O'Brien'
