Description
Please note Volunteers :)
*We only accept volunteers that already have 3+ years of full working experience in our required departments (studying is not incl) therefore your age must be 24+ years minimum.*
Are you ready to live off-grid ...? :)
Our farm is a 6200 hectare game lodge in Namibia located just outside a very small town, Otavi. The beautiful mountains and savannah-grasslands are home to a big number of wildlife Including Giraffes, Zebras, Waterbuck, Elands, Leopards and Cheetahs to only mention a few. We offer many activities like game drives, hikes and also horse riding adventures. We have 10 beautiful horses roaming free on our farm so they are not always here. Furthermore, we are only a 1.5 hour drive away from the popular Etosha National Park.
The ranch is currently being run by a german-speaking family, currently in it’s 5th generation.
We have about 20 staff members on the farm with different roles from kitchen to garden and even some field work, in which everyone is always happy to help in every department. We also have our very own garage/workshop where all our vehicles are serviced and repaired.
And yes we are a very hard working ranch therefor we love somebody that is not afraid of hard work, long days or long working hours ,totally easy going and not complicated at all. Be part part of getting your hands dirty in our every day African working day which is an adventure and for those who love being active and alive.
Our farm has a wide range of Free Roaming animals, and it is not in our nature to keep any of these animals in cages or any sort of captive animals, not only just wild animals and horses but chickens, ducks, geese, cats, dogs ect.
Our nature here is very pure and very untouched and an absolute eye opening for someone who wants to learn how to connect with wildlife, nature , landscapes and so much.
We are living right in the middle of the wildlife resort therefor you are far away from city life, shopping, partying and ect. but guess what...We do have also about 2-3 volunteers at the same time so that you don't feel lonely and its a lot of fun doing adventures together, meeting new people and being part of an unforgettable experience.
We are a big part of the Hunting industry which is actually a very important part of the life cycle of the world.... uneducated greenies are not welcomed ( a lot of false information are being spread of hunting, sadly) We are absolute blessed with having our very own products here.
Volunteers are only temporary visitors to our Lodge, and we value our staff members very highly and expect everybody to treat all our staff members with the same dignity & respect as you yourself would like to be treated. Our staff rules apply to our volunteers as well.
Our farm has a wide range of Free Roaming animals, and it is not in our nature to keep any of these animals in cages or any sort of captive animals, not only just wild animals and horses but chickens, ducks, geese, cats, dogs ect.
We also have our own self-sufficient garden, which we call our big oasis.
Our main food in Namibia is meat, and we, as Namibians, have the love of consuming meat on a daily basis. We have our own butcher where we produce our meat. We prefer quality to quantity and do not believe in any unnecessary hunting or killing. You would like to get to know our culture? *Our culture does not go with a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle*
We do prefer non-smokers as there is a lot of contact with lodge guests.
We also do support charity work, and it is expected of our volunteers to also be able to assist in any charity work available.
We only accept volunteers that do already got at least 3+ years of full working experiences in our required departments ( studying is not incl ) therefor your age must be 24+ years.
We do have Volunteers rules here where we expect from you, to apply them and respect them. A small contract is signed at the property with a probation period of 10 days.
... we absolute love it to reward you with little things when we notice your hard working, your awesomeness and easy going ways... :)
