Hi all! I’m looking for a dog AND cat lover who would enjoy pet sitting/house sitting whilst I go home for Christmas. (17th - 29th December 2022).
In exchange for 2 weeks you would get free accommodation in my house which is near the stunning Unawatuna Beach (Sri Lanka).
If you love animals (especially dogs) this shouldn’t feel like work and my three pooches (2 full time residents and one who just pops in and out) have beautiful temperaments and just love company
You would have full use of the house’s amenities INCLUDING a scooter for transport.

My house, which you would be occupying, is nestled in the heart of a beautiful little village on the headland behind Unawatuna beach. It’s a perfect location for those who want to have easy access to the tourist areas and swimming beaches but who want someone peaceful to come back to when it’s all finished. My neighbours Nihal and Mangalika will also be nearby to help if you need anything.
Help
Main duties will involve feeding the animals twice a day. All food supplies will be provided but it will need to be batch cooked in bulk every other day. It’s just boiling some rice and chucking in a tin of fish
Other than that it really is just that you’ll give the animals some attention throughout the day and let them give you cuddles!

Accommodation
It is a two bedroom apartment structure with a balcony outdoor area. There is a large kitchen with fridge, gas burner stove top and an electric oven. Both bedrooms have an attached bathroom.
The fully functional kitchen allows you to do your own cooking (as well as the cooking for the pets)
What else ...
I think this is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to base themselves in south Sri Lanka for a few weeks but doesn’t want to pay the escalating charges for hotels/villas etc.
During the two weeks you have free reign of the space and can treat it as your own.
What I ask in return is not only that you keep my pets alive but that you LOVE them and give them cuddles and talk to them.
I have plenty of neighbours and friends who would be able to feed them in my absence but I’m turning to work away because two of my dogs in particular love people and don’t cope well when left alone and without companionship for extended periods.
Of course you aren’t bound to the house. You can use the scooter to explore the stunning coast line and you really can come and go as you please. Just give the dogs some love along the way!
