Live and teach in the culturally rich city Bhaktapur, just 15 km from Kathmandu. You will live with a local family, who has connection to the secondary english school, where you will be teaching.
The family will introduce you to Nepalese culture and everyday life. Bhaktapur has narrow, charming streets and a beautiful mountain scenery. Trips to the surrounding areas are possible.
At the school we teach children in the age from 3 to 15 years. All subjects are taught in English, and therefore we expect you to have a proper command of English.
You will learn about Nepalese culture and make new contacts and good friends among the family, the teachers and the students.
You will gain a historical insight in Nepalese history as you walk the old, brick streets of Bhaktapurs inner city.

We expect you to have proper command of English, and experience with teaching is an advantage but not a necessity.
You will be teaching children in from the age of 6 to 10 years in English language. We provide textbook materials if you need inspiration, but we would like you to structure and plan your own teaching. We value if you want to teach through games and discussion.
Our school week is Sunday-Friday, and you will be teaching 2-3 hours on school days. It is possible for you to take a few days off in a row to do some sightseeing, if you clear this with your family and the principle.
We expect you to be able to volunteer for the duration of at least 1 month and maximum 3 months.
Homestay with a local family who has connection to the school providing food and clean water.
There is beautiful scenery in the nearby areas. You can take two days of to explore the village Nagarkot or spend a Saturday by a nearby temple. Bhaktapur is close to Kathmandu where there are lots of sights to see and public transportation to the rest of Nepal is easily accessible.
