UPDATE: There's a last-minute spot available! We need some general help in the house:
- keeping the kitchen and dishwashers tidy;
- carrying some wood for the fireplace (it's already chopped);
- DIY: some sanding and painting small patches on walls, small repairs, some furniture fixing/glueing, bonus if you can re-wire some lamps :)
- after November 15th we will need some help with cooking;
- driving to take the recycling out;
We provide private accommodation and daily breakfast. For your general groceries, we organise shopping 2 to 3 times a week. We have a great sense of community here, with shared meals and amazing activities such as lawn/board games, movie nights, special social events, etc.
We are Jorge and Gabriel - a couple who left their home country and now found themselves in the unusual situation of living in a 12-century old castle in France that now functions as a Coliving and Coworking space for digital nomads and remote workers. Gabriel is a former journalist with a background in corporate communication, marketing and photography. Jorge has a degree in civil engineering and a big passion for languages.
The Chateau has been owned by the same family for 800 years. After a few years of restoration and remodelling with the help of family, friends and workawayers the owners created a non-profit association for the preservation of this patrimony and managed to turn the castle into a friendly and elegant space for people from all around the world who enjoy art, travel, culture and history. The purpose is to restore, maintain and promote the natural, man-made and cultural heritage of Normandy. It is a great project and a unique human adventure!
We are looking for easy-going, open and reliable people and would treat the property with respect.

Help around the house
You will discover a historic site in Normandy and a beautiful region of France. You will meet an incredible community of digital nomads and full-time travellers. You can practise your French and your English with us on a daily basis. You will become part of our family!
But most of all you will see and participate in the rebirth of an old French Castle!
A big house like this needs a lot of daily maintenance such as:
- emptying and loading the dishwashers
- storing, refilling missing water, soap, clean towels, coffee, tea etc.
- cleaning up after breakfast
- help shopping
- taking out trash and recycling
- laundry of kitchen towels
- watering and taking care of plants
- cleaning up branches in the garden and more
You need to have a driver's license because trash and shopping are outside of the property. The official language in the house is English, however it would be a big plus if you speak French because we need to practice our French :)

We have several small bedrooms with a bathroom on top of the castle (3rd floor).
We can accommodate 1 or 2 volunteers in a private room with a shared bathroom.
We provide breakfast and accommodation. We organise trips to the supermarket and everyone is welcome to organise shared meals with everyone in the house as often as you want.
Everyone is responsible for the cleaning of the shared spaces after cooking etc. (there is a cleaning lady taking care of the main cleaning)
Our property is located 3 hours drive from Paris, in the heart of the Norman countryside, close to the famous Sainte-Mère-Eglise and the D-Day beaches, an excellent base from which to explore the attractions of the region.
There are lots of beautiful animals in the surroundings of the property - cows, horses, deers, hare and wild animals - it is the perfect place for nature lovers.
The nearest town is Sainte-Mère-Eglise, also the site of Mont-Saint-Michel is 1h30 from the property.
On spot, we have yoga mats which the volunteers can use, also a lot of books in different languages and a huge park for walks and jogging.
We also have stable wi-fi and a coworking space.
