    Description

    Louise, Michael and Emilie-Anne plus four legged family members; Toa the big guy horse, Larry, the sumo sized cat and Moose, the pint sized dog. We also have a 2 yo filly pony home for summer so two horses currently on the property. We are regular visitors (almost daily) to our horse friends property down the road who also has workaways which has been very social to date and where our horse sometimes lives and is a main place for riding/schooling. Louise works from home three days a week and goes to the city two times a week (a good opportunity for workaway person to get a lift into the city for Auckland based excursions or spend time in the city) - Michael works 5 days a week in the city and quite long hours. Emilie-Anne attends the local college and works on the weekends. We are a busy but happy family.

    Enjoy being part of a semi rural New Zealand family - ideal for anyone interested in horses as this is very much "horse central" and a wonderful equine community. Interact and engage with extended family members, friends and other workaways in close proximity. The nature and environment is unique in this area and offers an enriched environment to spend some time in.

    We are a family of three (teenage daughter) on a lifestyle block (4ha) just outside of Helensville in the beautiful North West of Auckland, NZ. We are close to the beach, forest and nature experiences. Approx 45 mins from Auckland City. Ideally looking for someone to help with horses - I currently have a significant knee injury and will be on crutches for the next 3 months but am mobile and can drive. Main areas of help would include;
    Paddock management / horse management and opportunity to ride for a capable and experienced rider.
    Gardening
    Some home help - kitchen and occasional preparation of dinner.
    In return we offer a lovely home and opportunity to enjoy a lovely part of Auckland. We are very inclusive with our workaways and they become very much a part of our family for however long we are lucky enough to have them.

    Accommodation

    Own room / shared bathroom facilities with family. Good stock of food and happy to meet individual preferences - although vegan would be difficult given current limitations of myself. Vegetarian no problem. We eat as a family for dinner and workaway makes own breakfast and lunch. Plenty of space and attractive environment.

    There are plenty of ways to enjoy down time - beach, incredible west coast sunsets - we are close to Muriwai. Public transport is available but limited. Own transport would be a big bonus but not a requirement. Close to shops and cafes - not walking distance but 7 minute drive.

    We are fortunate to have great wifi through Starlink which is pretty essential in a semi rural area that is not even on fibre yet! Our workawayer has their own space in the loft area with bed space and a separate adjoining office. Office chairs and desks with a view.

    A modest sized campervan can be accommodated such as size of a Ford Transit Van or Toyota Hiace. Larger motorhomes could be a bit of a squeeze sorry as we have vehicles and horse float already
