    Description

Wake up in your own private caravan, parked on a sun-soaked section overlooking horses, sheep, and cows. Just a three-minute walk away, you’ll find a secret swimming spot and the southernmost ferry in the world.

At night, with almost no light pollution and wide open skies, you’ll witness the Aurora Australis dancing overhead, breathtaking sunsets, and stargazing so vivid you’ll never forget it. This is a dream location for photographers, nature lovers, and anyone looking to slow down and reconnect.

We’re based in a converted little church on the border of Central Otago — a peaceful area with its own warm microclimate. You’ll have access to fast Wi-Fi, solar power, water, a long-drop toilet, outdoor shower, fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen.

We go swimming almost every day (you’ll get free access with our season pass to the local pool!) and love sharing the beauty of our region.

We usually help side by side, sharing ideas, learning together, and keeping things relaxed — with plenty of breaks to enjoy the sunshine or walk to the nearby swimming spot. We love helping Workawayers get to know Kiwi culture and the rural New Zealand lifestyle, offering tips on finding a campervan or car and making the most of their travels. You’ll become part of our family and local community, joining in for chats, meals, and the occasional swim or sunset viewing. It’s a great fit for anyone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, good company, and authentic local experiences.

Most of the work at the moment is outdoor painting and a bit of gardening. It’s relaxed, hands-on, and perfect if you enjoy being outside in the fresh air with the birds and the view. We usually work together on projects, sharing ideas and taking breaks for a chat or a dip at the swim spot nearby. No special experience needed — just a positive attitude and willingness to give things a go.
