Description
We are a blended family of six, but sometimes there are only two of us when the children are staying with their other parent. We live surrounded by nature, very close to Bagnères-de-Bigorre (10 minutes by car), a very pleasant town at the foot of the mountains, with lots of walks and hikes to enjoy, thermal baths, friendly people and a great atmosphere – in short, a little corner of paradise!
We have a large renovated house, but we still have quite a few things to do in the garden and in the house (some minor finishing touches) to make it really perfect. Our goal is to rent or sell it in the near future.
I, Marie, currently have several jobs, all as a freelancer (construction, real estate and audiovisual), and my partner, Jean, is a videographer, VJ and editor. We work together on various projects.
Our four children (two each) are between 9 and 16 years old, and we have an adorable, ultra-cuddly dog and a cat who is just as cuddly!
Nous sommes une famille recomposée de 6 personnes mais parfois nous ne sommes que deux quand les enfants sont chez leur autre parent. Nous vivons en pleine nature tout près de Bagnères-de-Bigorre (10min en voiture), une ville très sympa au pied des montagnes, avec énormément de balades et randonnées à faire, des thermes, des gens sympas et bon esprit, bref un petit coin de paradis!
Nous avons une grande maison rénovée mais il nous reste pas mal de choses à faire au jardin et dans la maison (des petites finitions) pour qu'elle soit vraiment nickel. Notre but étant de la louer ou de la vendre dans quelques temps.
Moi, Marie, je cumule en ce moment plusieurs boulots, tous en tant qu'indépendante (bâtiment, immobilier et audiovisuel) et mon compagnon, Jean, est vidéaste, veejay et monteur. Nous travaillons ensemble sur différents projets.
Nos quatre enfants (2 chacun) ont entre 9 et 16 ans, nous avons un adorable chien uuuultra câlin et un chat pas moins câlin!

We’re a curious and open-minded family, and we love meeting people from different backgrounds. Jean has lived over 20 years in New York and travelled extensively in Africa. I (Marie) have explored parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe. The father of my children is Nepalese, so multicultural exchange is part of our everyday life.
You’ll be welcome to join our family rhythm — share meals, stories, music, ideas, creative time with the kids, and peaceful moments in nature.
We can share with you:

- renovation skills and creative reuse
- our experience as freelancers (building, real estate, film)
- healthy, tasty, mostly organic home cooking

Nous sommes une famille curieuse et très ouverte sur le monde. Jean a vécu plus de 20 ans à New York et a beaucoup voyagé en Afrique. Moi (Marie), j’ai voyagé en Asie, en Afrique et en Europe. Le père de mes enfants est népalais, donc l’échange interculturel fait partie de notre quotidien.
Vous serez les bienvenu·e·s à partager notre rythme de vie : les repas, les discussions, la musique, les idées, des moments créatifs avec les enfants, et aussi des temps de calme dans la nature.
Nous pouvons vous transmettre :

We mainly need help with:
- Outdoor tasks (clearing brush, light pruning, tidying, etc.)
- Small DIY or finishing jobs inside the house (shelves, minor repairs)
- Some organizing or light cleaning if needed
If you’re comfortable with kids, you could also help with:
- Occasional driving (if you have a license)
- Helping with homework
- Proposing creative or sporty activities
You don’t need to be a pro — if you're hands-on, independent, and in a good mood, you'll be a great fit here!
Nous cherchons principalement un coup de main pour :
- l’entretien du jardin (débroussaillage, taille légère, ramassage, etc.)
- des petits travaux de bricolage ou de finition dans la maison (poser une étagère, réparer un coin de mur, etc.)
- du tri, du rangement ou un peu d’aide au ménage si besoin
Si vous êtes à l’aise avec les enfants, il peut aussi y avoir :
- des petits trajets (si vous avez le permis)
- un peu d’aide aux devoirs
- des activités sportives, manuelles ou créatives à proposer
Rien de très technique : si vous êtes débrouillard·e, autonome, et que vous avez envie d’aider dans la bonne humeur, vous serez les bienvenu·e·s !

Accommodation
You’ll sleep in a room located in the adjoining barn — it’s a bit rustic, but comfortable, quiet, and has its own toilet.
For the shower, you’ll need to come into the main house (just next door), and it’s brand new!
We mostly cook organic, healthy, and tasty food.
We love discovering other cultures — the father of my children is Nepalese, Jean lived 20 years in New York, and we’ve both travelled quite a bit.
We truly enjoy having people around!
We usually share meals together, but we’re very respectful of everyone’s individual rhythm.
Vous dormirez dans une chambre située dans la grange attenante : un peu rustique, mais confortable et au calme, avec WC attenant.
Pour la douche, il faut passer par la maison (c’est juste à côté), et elle est toute neuve !
Nous cuisinons principalement bio, sain et gourmand.
