    Description

We are are an early retired couple who moved to France in 2021 to live in what was previously our holiday home. It is a private residence for us. It is a beautiful 19th century farmhouse set in the countryside with hills all around and is not overlooked. It is located in the department of the Aveyron, home to 10 of the official 100 most beautiful villages in France, the most of any department. Our closest village is Estaing, which is stunningly beautiful. The house itself is located on the Chemin de St Jaques de Compostela, the pilgrim’s pathway of St James, and walkers can be seen passing every day. The house has 7 bedrooms on 3 storeys and is well equipped and in good order. There is a hectare of land, set to lawn and flower beds, and a there are, amongst other things, a 12x6 meter swimming pool, a boules pitch and a jacuzzi, all of which will be available for our guest(s).

There is a constant stream of jobs that need doing in the house and the garden, and with our advancing years, this is becoming increasingly challenging.

This is simply one of the most culturally rich places in France, possibly in the whole of Europe. Apart from the opportunity to see the amazing sites of historical significance, the chance to mingle with the lovely people who walk the pilgrim’s pathway is a unique opportunity to understand and befriend people of diverse cultures.
