  Hello everybody!
  Welcome to our small Montessori school located in Zlín, Czech republic. The school consists of a day care center for kids 1.5-3 years of age, kindergarten for kids 3-6 years of age, and elementary school up to 15 years of age. Our philosophy is based on an individual and friendly approach to children. We want to help children to develop their own creativity, self-competence and the sense of responsibility like the part of the gained knowledge. We are currently looking for an English-speaking volunteer (preferably a native speaker) who would spend time with children aged 9-15.

  The goal for the volunteer is to acquire work habits and gaining experience in working with children and with its specifics in another country, applying a different type of pedagogy (Montessori). The volunteer can learn to communicate his/her message despite possible language barriers and different approaches, providing an intensive intercultural experience - both for the children and for the existing team, as well as for the volunteer. Besides, living in the Czech republic is a very pleasant experience, as it is a very safe country with mild climate.

  Help

  We are looking for an English-speaking volunteer who would help us during our morning programme. It is composed of a Montessori block, where lessons are not differentiated by individual subjects - such as mathematics, language, etc. - but work is done in a block where all these subjects intertwine. Children work on whatever they want or what arises from their agreement with the educator for that week/day. They can choose to work with materials or prepared worksheets, or they might attend a lecture on a specific topic. The volunteer would participate in maintaining working and creative atmosphere, helping the children with everyday tasks within their capabilities, so that they have the opportunity to naturally absorb the language. We would be very happy if the volunteer could introduce the children to the culture of his/her country, thus enriching their perspective. The volunteer could also assist in creating materials and worksheets for teaching the children.

  Accommodation

  We are able to get you an accommodation in a small flat near our school (a couple-minute walking distance).
  
  We provide hot lunch (meat, rice, potatoes, vegetables,..etc), you can always choose between two meals - one of them is vegetarian. It is also possible to have morning and afternoon snack - usually bread with spread and vegetables, yogurt, cookies etc.
  
  One hot meal a day (lunch) at school cafeteria + we can provide breakfast (usually bread with some spread, vegetables etc.) and afternoon snack.
