  Description

  This is an old hotel that I renovate since
  2009, with the aim of organizing artist residences, camps, internships for young people and adults always in the field of creation. We also organize cultural events. I live there with my friend.
  
  The hotel is located at 1400 meters altitude in the Vaudois Alps, in Leysin in Switzerland.
  City with recognized seaside charms, it offers an ideal setting for the creation, both calm and sunny.
  
  Facing south and camped on the slopes of the city, the old Hotel was invested for its geographical location, its rustic character and its wide spaces.
  
  Well located at the top of the village, it enjoys a relaxing calm. Close to the forest, climbing wall and hiking trails and snowshoes (in winters). Among our cultural-sports neighbors, we have the pleasure of having the oldest minigolf in Switzerland: a summer visit not to be missed! A little further, 15 minutes walk, is the center of the village with lifts, supermarkets, small shops, indoor pool, fitness center, riding stables, restaurants, pubs, etc.

  Davide
  Self-taught, the Founder and Director of a School, Davide begins very early to venture and to rub the hazards of artistic education. From 1989 until 1993, he taught visual arts in various public institutions of the Riviera, including the Villamont College in Lausanne. In 1993, at the age of twenty-seven, he came back to teaching a modeling class and leading a workshop of artistic expression located on the shores of Lake Geneva, in Rolle.
  With this in mind, all of the School's courses offer support for creation:
  they allow everyone to create their landmarks and thus to stake out their universe of creation.
  Free from any influence or artistic trend, Tadard School wishes above all to develop unusual and artistic penchant specific to each.
  
  To feel, to use common sense and to work self-criticism constitute the three modes of knowledge sharpened by the teaching of the School. It aims essentially to express the diversity and richness of each personality.
  His curiosity and his quality of listening leads him to open the artistic education to a space of dialogue and attention.
  
  In 1997, he set up his own art school and decided to develop a singular artistic education there. He then moved to Lausanne in former industrial premises and gave birth to the School and the project.
  
  The project:
  The approach of the project requires to accept to engage in the unknown with curiosity.
  Convinced that the unpredictable develops the pupil's attention, the Director has set up an education that encourages him to be attentive to his perceptions and his production.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  The house is a place invested by artists and it feels. The building is very inspiring and calm. The mountain is a refreshing place, but Leysin is known for its air quality. Its history with its sanatoriums and well before a Celtic high place.

  By train it is very easy to go to Montreux known for the Jazz festival, but we are also 1h20 from Lausanne.

  There is a charming room available with a window. Toilet and shower available. In the room there is a table, heating and all the comforts to meet. There is also a free washing machine available The host can enjoy the Garden, the porch and all that the property offers.

  Workaway fits perfectly with our state of mind. It is good tool to continue this project in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in order to carry out small jobs. We seek above all a human experience.
