    Description

We are a family of five, 2 adults and 3 children. We have a little farm with some horses and we grow some vegetables with the aim to be self sufficient.

We, Markus and Amanda work mainly with building and repairing traditional log houses. The kids are 14, 9 and 5 years old and we spend a lot of time with them, riding, swimming and working out. We also enjoy playing music, cooking.

Nearby is the village of Näsåker, it’s a fantastic place for meeting people and experience the nature of the north. If you have your own car there is also a lot of other nature experiences in the area such as Edsele quarts-mine, Meåfors goatfarm, Skogsnäs cooperative village and so on.

If you are interested in horses it is possible for you to try out riding and helping with our ardenner.

The tasks on the farm vary depending on season and your skills/experience/interests. In the spring we need help with fencing, preparing the garden, chopping and storing wood, cleaning for animals and so on. In the summer the need for taking care of the fields, weed picking and preparing for winter is big. Autumn work is mostly storing, butchering, closing the gardens and also a lot of going into the forest and picking berries. We collect around 100 kg of blueberries and lingonberries every year.
Currently planning a new garden with fruit trees and perennials.

We are very flexible, communication is key :)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You stay in a simple cabin on our farm. Access to water and electricity. In the nearby Village Näsåker there is a gym and a sauna.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We cook mostly vegetarian food but also have meat on our menu.

We live in the village of Näsåker but offer a cabin on the farm 5 minutes drive from Näsåker. We can of course help giving you a ride sometimes but it’s good if you like to spend time in nature or have your own car.
