    Description

Welcome to our place – a place to truly unwind

We are a unique and inspiring place in the heart of the Frisian countryside, where peace, connection, and personal growth take center stage. Surrounded by wide-open fields and far from the highway, our location offers a safe and serene environment for those who want to slow down.

    Our activities are diverse:

We host family constellations and organizational constellations.

We rent out our location for retreats, workshops, and group or team gatherings.

Throughout the year, we also welcome individual guests to stay in our unique accommodations.

What makes us special? The magic of the place. On our property, you'll find two cozy treehouses, charming hikers’ huts, and even a small chapel — each lovingly and thoughtfully designed for a unique stay in nature.

We also welcome people who need a time-out — due to stress, burnout, or life transitions — and offer them space to rest and reconnect with themselves. We believe in the power of stillness, simplicity, and genuine human connection. Living and working in harmony with others helps foster inner peace, awareness, and well-being.

We want everyone who visits to feel welcome and seen. Whether you come to help, to learn, or to simply breathe out — you're free to be exactly who you are.

We offer more than just a place to stay — we offer a way of living. As a helper, you'll become part of our daily rhythm, which is rooted in simplicity, connection, and respect for nature and one another. You’ll have the opportunity to experience Dutch rural life in a peaceful and meaningful way.

We love sharing stories, meals, and perspectives with people from all over the world. You’ll learn about our approach to community living, retreats, and systemic work (like family constellations), and we’re always curious to hear about your culture, background, and experiences. There's also space for creativity, personal reflection, and growth.

Whether you're helping in the garden, cooking together, or joining a quiet evening around the fire, you'll be immersed in a warm atmosphere where mutual learning and open-hearted connection are central.

What can you do as a helper ?

When you come to help us, you become part of our place. You’ll contribute to the care and maintenance of this special environment and help us create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Your tasks may vary depending on the season and the needs of the moment, but they can include:

    Maintaining the (vegetable) garden
Upkeep of our wooden accommodations, such as the treehouses and huts
Maintenance of the docks and boats
    the accommodations and shared spaces
Welcoming guests and communicating with them during their stay
Assisting during retreats and workshops (e.g., cooking, receiving guests, helping with logistics)

Our company has the required work permit and insurance. We offer a gross hourly wage of €14.40.

We are looking for people who enjoy working with their hands, are proactive, and want to contribute with care and presence. You’ll often work alongside us or with other helpers, but you’ll also have time to rest, explore, and live at the pace of the place.

    Accommodation

As a Workawayer , you’ll stay in one of our unique and cozy accommodations on the property. Depending on availability and the season, this could be a small wooden cabin, a tiny house, or one of our charming hiker’s huts. All are simple but thoughtfully furnished, offering comfort, warmth, and privacy in the heart of nature.

You'll have access to shared facilities such as a kitchen, bathroom, and common spaces, as well as plenty of quiet spots around the land to read, reflect, or just enjoy the view. We encourage a respectful and mindful way of living together, where shared spaces are treated with care.

Our location is peaceful and surrounded by fields, birdsong, and big skies — the perfect place to slow down and reconnect.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Free Time & Exploring the Area

During your time off, there’s plenty of space to relax, reflect, and explore. We’re located in the peaceful countryside of Friesland, surrounded by wide open skies, meadows, and small villages. You can take walks or bike rides along quiet country roads, visit nearby lakes, or simply enjoy the stillness of nature.

For those who enjoy photography, birdwatching, reading, or journaling, this is an ideal setting. The historic city of Leeuwarden is about 20–30 minutes away by car and is a great spot for a day trip, with museums, canals, shops, and cafés.

We have bikes available for use, and public transport is reachable with some planning (we can help you figure out the best connections). Pick-ups from the nearest station are sometimes possible, depending on timing.

Our Way of Life & House Guidelines

We live simply and consciously, close to nature and with attention to how we interact with our surroundings and each other. We value open communication, mindfulness, and respect for both people and the land. We eat mostly vegetarian and prefer local, seasonal food where possible.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

We appreciate a quiet and calm atmosphere, especially in the evenings.

We ask everyone to help keep shared spaces clean and tidy.

Smoking is not allowed inside any buildings.

We aim for low waste and eco-friendly living — please be mindful of water and energy use.

Alcohol use is fine in moderation, but this is not a party place.

We welcome people who are kind, grounded, and open-minded, and who enjoy contributing in a meaningful way. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you!

    Can host digital nomads

If you're a digital nomad looking for a peaceful place to work while helping out, we can be a great fit — as long as you're comfortable with a slower pace and simple rural life. We have a stable Wi-Fi connection in most indoor areas, strong enough for emails, video calls, and light remote work. However, keep in mind that we're in the countryside, so internet speed may not always be suitable for heavy data use like large uploads or streaming. We’re happy to arrange a flexible helping schedule so you can balance your tasks here with your remote work. Just let us know what your needs are, and we’ll do our best to co-create a rhythm that works for both sides. Quiet spots for focused work — indoors or out in nature — are easy to find. If you’re looking to combine meaningful physical work, connection with others, and space for your own projects, this could be the perfect place for you.

We have a small, simple spot available for Workawayers traveling with a camper or motorhome. It’s an unpaved grassy area near the entrance of our property — not a full campsite, but a quiet and natural place to park and stay. Please note: The ground is unpaved and best suited for smaller or medium-sized vehicles, especially in dry weather. Electricity and water can be arranged nearby. You’ll have access to shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, just a short walk away. It’s a modest setup, but you’ll be part of our little community and can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and everything we have to offer.

  • Can possibly accept pets

    Can possibly accept pets

We love animals and understand that some travelers journey with their furry companions. Depending on the situation, we may be able to welcome pets — especially well-behaved dogs — but only after prior discussion. It’s important that any animals are friendly toward other people and animals, and that they won’t disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Please keep in mind: We have our own animals on the property (a cat), so your pet must be calm and under control at all times. Pets must stay out of indoor guest accommodations and shared spaces unless agreed otherwise. You are fully responsible for your pet’s care, cleanliness, and safety. We do not have fencing, so pets should not roam freely without supervision. If you’d like to bring a pet, please let us know in advance so we can see if it’s a good match for everyone.
