    Description

Hi! We are Jane and Alastair originally from the UK, we emigrated to New Zealand with our children nearly 20 years ago and have never looked back! Our children have now grown up and we manage our property with help from our extended family and volunteers.

We have a small family run farm, organic certified, small fruit and nut orchard on the edge of Hastings in a quiet but convenient spot. Accommodation in a lovely self-contained studio with two single beds on the grounds. Two bikes are available, it is a 15 minute ride into town. Orchard help depends on the time of year and ranges from thinning and pruning trees to picking fruit. Outside of this, there is always general gardening and maintenance to do! We normally accomodate 2 people. Hours are between 4 and 5 per day with 2 days a week off. We generally prefer a minimum stay of one week. Longer stays are possible.

Our place is ideally situated between Hastings and Havelock North on a quiet rural street only 5 mins drive and 15mins cycle ride away from each town. Hawkes Bay is known for its fruit growing industry, wineries and beaches. Napier, the Art Deco capital of New Zealand is a 20min drive away. We enjoy the most sunshine hours in the country and the friendliest locals!

We look forward to hosting you in the beautiful Hawkes Bay the fruit bowl of New Zealand!

We are an organically certified fruit and nut orchard and an example of a small family run lifestyle property. You will learn about the care and management of a range of fruit and nut trees. We are foodies and try to grow as much as we can to eat. We have been hosting volunteers for over 10 years and many have stayed for extended periods of time. We have enjoyed interacting with people from around the world and learning about their culture.
