    Description

We are a patchworkfamily from Germany and we are going to live in Southern Spain starting January. Horses, permaculture, and setting up infrastructure like houses, solar panels, water appliances and green houses will be the main focus. We have three "fincas" with all together 58 hectars of wonderful, quiet land, near small villages in the province of Huelva. So if you want to help build this small ecovillage right from the start and help make it a spiritual community - you are quite welcome to join us!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

There will be definitely an exchange of knowledge around agriculture including life with horses.
Most of us are fluent in English and Spanish (and German of course, haha) so that you might learn a thing ot two about foreign languages...

We won't have stables for the horses - just corrals where they can build a herd. So no stable cleaning! :-) but of course they need food, water and general care.
Gardening will be a big thing - all organic, terra preta, Agnihotra, electroculture, permaculture, aquaponics, hydroponics, and if - by any chance - you beekeeping, even better!
We will build very simple houses, but comfortable beds! ,-) and we also will "mingle" with the villagers, learning Spanish, because we also believe in the greater community.
If you know horseriding you might lead a trek of riders into the 5000 ha pine tree forrest.
There is so much more but I'll stop here to give you a chance to discover more and also create your own impact.

This host offers a language exchange
When I first cam to Spain I realized that speaking Spanish helped me get to know the country, its people and culture so much that I decided if I ever wanted to live in a country for a longer period of time it wouldn't be without knowing its language. I also found out that making mistakes in the new foreign language is part of the process of learning - so I decided to make as many mistakes as possible and not feel bad about them, but see them as reminders of my progress. You don't make mistakes if you don't speak, right? .-) Also... another language we all want to learn (and have great teachers for it) is the language of horses. Natural horsemanship. No violence, just connection! Anyway, that's more or less where we are at with that...

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

double room in a permanent (glamping) tent (wooden floor, water, etc.) with nice and soft beds.

We want you to feel good with us - therefore food and a soft place to sleep are mandatory! I'm just pointing this our because we will live out on the land with villages at least 3km away.
So we'll have three meals (at least! :-) per day and no more than 25 hours per week, probaly less.
Most of our food will hopefully our own produce, except if we eat meat - our kids demanded we don't eat our animals, well maybe the fish.
If you are a vegetarian or vegan we will adjust to that.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We have two children, girls, and we would like them to get to know and learn from other people from all over the world. We seek to be selfsustainable food-wise - but that goal will take some time and patience. We also like Spanish bars and restaurants, Flamenco, the local traditions and the contact to the locals. And Sevilla as well as the ocean are not really far away and we plan to do small trips to not be stuck in our own "sauce" (as we say in Germany) all the time. So we are going to work and achieve things, AND we are also going to have a lot of FUN :-)

    Can host digital nomads

We do that ourselves, we have online businesses so we understand the need to be connected. If we will have WiFi - that's not sure yet, since we are really off-grid. But cell reception is good and mobile WiFi is almost just as good, at least for video conferences, email, etc.

There is more than enough space for Campervans, so please fell free to bring your own "house" :-)

    Can possibly accept pets

All pets are welcome with one slight exception - dogs that keep barking all day and who are aggressive towards others - those we do not really appreciate that much. However, we think that every trauma and unsocial behaviour can be dealt with. I personally am starting to learn César Millán's work and he, indeed, is a real "dog whisperer"...
