    Description

Hello there! We are a family restoring a big farmhouse in SW France using only traditional (and eco!) methods. The house and land of about ten acres has been abandoned for nearly 30 years and we are trying to bring it back to its former glory and also establish sustainable water-flow with lakes/ponds and permaculture garden. It is a big but very enjoyable and satisfying endeavour - there is a seemingly never-ending variety of things to be attempted and conquered! We have dogs, cats and chickens and the land is nestled in among bucolic farmland and less than 10 minutes from a thriving small tourist town with a 1000 year old market (and lots of excellent restaurants). Bordeaux is about 90 minutes away and the nearest 'big' town is Bergerac, about 30 minutes away.

Ideally we would love people who have building, carpentry or stone masonry experience but anyone who has a can-do attitude and is passionate about eco or traditional builds and wants to learn or practise the craft would be most welcome. Also people who are knowledgeable or interested in permaculture/landscaping/sustainability and enjoys working outside.
