    🏕 ABOUT THE PROJECT

    This is a small off-grid nature immersion community located near Pano, Tena in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

    Founded by Diego - with help from Amanda. Diego is an expedition kayaker and environmental educator, and can teach you how to kayak or immerse yourself in a jungle expedition.

    Amanda is a meditation, Qigong and art teacher from the UK.

    This was created to reconnect people with nature, simplicity, community and conscious living.

    We live surrounded by rivers, mountains, rainforest and wildlife in simple elevated jungle cabins amongst the trees.

    A large part of our project focuses on supporting local Kitchwa communities and providing free educational opportunities for children through creativity, environmental leadership, practical skills and outdoor activities. We also work to create a space where volunteers and community members can learn from one another, share knowledge, and develop a deeper connection with the Amazon and its people.

    More Than Just Volunteering

    Cultural exchange happens around shared meals, campfires, local adventures, community events, and everyday life in the Amazon. Volunteers leave with new skills, new friendships, and a deeper understanding of Ecuadorian culture and rainforest living. 🌿

    We welcome volunteers from many different backgrounds and appreciate all kinds of skills and ideas.

    Current projects include:

    * Building camping and community spaces
    * Gardening and general maintenance
    * Cleaning and organisation
    * Cooking and kitchen help
    * Teaching English, art, sport or technology
    * Nutrition and healthy eating education for children
    * Creative projects and environmental education

    We also regularly work alongside nearby Kitchwa communities helping with projects such as:

    * Building paths and community spaces
    * Carpentry and construction
    * Handicrafts and creative activities
    * Cooking and community support
    * Sports and activities with children
    * Cleaning and maintenance

    We have a small school onsite whereby we teach Art, Technology, Sports, English and Indigenous Rights. Volunteers are welcome to offer any type of valuable lessons to our students. They are aged between 10-16. Usually classes are no more than 10 students.

    The work changes depending on what is needed at the time, so flexibility and openness are important.

    Above all, we value people with a positive attitude, respect for nature and a willingness to contribute to community life. Any talent is welcome here.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    Volunteers stay in comfortable jungle cabins immersed in nature. Sometimes cabins may be shared depending on the number of guests.

    This is an off-grid jungle experience, simple but beautiful. Volunteers contribute together as a community. Usually, everyone shares food costs and cooking responsibilities, creating meals together in our communal kitchen and BBQ area.

    Please note:

    * We use dry compost toilets (no flushing toilets)
    * Everyone helps maintain shared spaces, including compost systems
    * There is no hot water
    * We do have showers
    * A beautiful clear river is only a 3-minute walk away and is perfect for swimming, relaxing and cooling off

    Life here is connected to nature, simplicity and community living.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    We are deeply grateful for all support and we do our best to offer volunteers a meaningful and memorable experience in return.

    This place is best suited for people who genuinely want to reconnect with nature, experience simple off-grid jungle living and contribute positively to the community.

    This is not a party space. We do not allow drugs and we ask guests to be respectful with alcohol. The heart of this project is about raising awareness for the protection of the Earth, conscious living and building a deeper relationship with nature.

    Nearby Places & Free Time

    In your free time, there are many beautiful places to explore nearby. We also have bicycles available for volunteers to borrow.

    Amanda teaches meditation, qigong and art to those that are open to it.

    Food is either bought individually or we can share the costs and cook together as a community. This depends on the number of volunteers we have.

    Some local highlights include:

    * Laguna Verde — waterfalls and river pools around 30 minutes away
    * Laguna Azul — a beautiful waterfall and natural swimming area
    * Pukaurcu — a famous swimming spot with incredible scenery
    * Misahuallí — where two rivers meet, known for its monkeys and riverside atmosphere
    * Pano — the nearest small town with shops, rivers and waterfalls
    * Tena — the main town, around 20 minutes away by bus (bus stop is outside the property)
    * Baños — approximately 3 hours away by bus
    * El Coca — gateway to the lower Amazon, around 5 hours away

    For those seeking deeper adventure, you can also continue further into the Amazon by boat towards Iquitos, Peru.

    We look forward to welcoming people from around the world who want to share, learn, create and experience life in the jungle together.
