We are a small family run school on the outskirts of Lima in the lively district of Villa El Salvador. Buses into central Lima are very frequent and take around 50 minutes. There are approximately 50 children in the school, split into 6 classes, and we are looking for English speaking volunteers to teach small classes of children of a variety of ages, from 5-16. The school has a relaxed and welcoming attitude, and there are multiple opportunities to get involved in projects besides teaching English, from art, music and sport to baking and teaching other languages- any ideas will be encouraged and supported! The children are engaging and full of life, and our previous volunteers have all found their experiences both enriching and lots of fun!
In return we provide accommodation in the living quarters above the school and full board (including typical Peruvian cuisine!) Volunteers get 3 days off a week to explore and travel around the diverse and historical country that is Perú.
Our summer school starts on the 5th of January and we need English and French teachers.
Our regular school year starts on the 2nd of March and finishes the 23erd of
Our volunteer positions are open again and we would like to you to feel free to ask and join us on this beautiful project.
Class sizes are small and volunteers will teach age ranges from 5-16. Volunteers have resources at hand if they need them but are welcome to bring their own ideas to their lessons too!
You will be provided with a room with WiFi and access to laundry facilities. We as a family eat communally in our kitchen and volunteers will be provided with as much home cooked Peruvian cuisine as they can manage!
We are happy to meet and pick up volunteers from Jorge Chavez airport when they arrive!
Basic Spanish is desired, but not essential: many of our previous volunteers have arrived speaking no Spanish and picked it up quickly!
