    THE PROJECT

We are a small collective trying to create a sustainable and environmentally positive village with a guesthouse and cafe on a 60000sqm mixed cashew plantation that we are slowly restoring to forest. Based in the jungles of South Goa, India, our mission is to create a space where humans can come to experience a more balanced and simple way of life that reconnects us to Nature.

Our jungle hub was just a Disused Cashew Plantation 3 years ago, overrun with Invasive plants, creepers and a terrifying mass of spiky bamboo. With a tonne of enthusiasm but not a great deal of knowledge we launched ourselves inexpertly at the challenge and after nearly three years in residence we slowly have something resembling a functioning Off-Grid Village.

Despite our progress to now the Village is still missing a few very key features, not least a permaculture farm and plant nursery to provide us with some ingredients for the food in our cafe. If you are passionate about plants or if you have experience with permaculture or organic farming we would particularly like to hear from you. If you can build us a treehouse, a mud hut, an amazing pizza oven, or perhaps some well thought out furniture for our cafe and rooms you are also very welcome. Oh and if you are an amazing cook we'd also love you to visit and help us implementing procedures and writing recipes for our Cafe!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This project started as a way to support the wildlife rescue and community work we do in the surrounding areas, particularly in snake and wild animal rescue. Therefore we have a very strong understanding of the local ecology and try to spend as much time as possible learning more things about it. If you have a passion for wildlife or plants you will find yourself very much at home and with plenty of opportunities to share knowledge, teach us a little and learn a bit from us too.

This is a down to earth project that gives you a chance to experience life in a home-built village trying (and in some cases struggling) to become sustainable and do something different from the civilised and concrete-covered world.
