Description
We have a community project aimed at living together in an environment respecting the values of solidarity, respect for our planet and self-development.
Well, yes, those are still a lot of pretty words that most people looking for a volunteer job want to find. But this project has a special story
Bijay is Nepalese and Benja French. We met in 2015. Facile Bijay has always been the pro at opening ecolodges in his region of Chitwan and Benja has always been passionate about development approaches respecting nature... A beautiful friendship was born but we also went through together the various Nepalese earthquakes which devastated a good part of Nepal. With a great international team, we managed a program to build emergency toilets in the areas most affected by the earth rumblings. The creation of this volunteering brought together people from all over the world with incredible energy to bring a little bit of help where it was needed most.
Subsequently, we each took paths in different countries, visited and learned about different projects of solidarity and protection of our environment and above all we became professional. 10 years later, it seems entirely logical to us to unite to create a place of peace where people who wish to meet can stay in Nepal and more particularly in Pokhara, at the foot of the highest mountains in the world.
Well, that's a great story too... in reality, we have land, with a view of the lake and the himalayan peaks near by and then we have a lot of good ideas for building an eco-place.
So come and learn with Bijay how to build a super mini village with as many natural materials as possible with a Nepalese touch. This project is ideal for living with Nepalese people who wish to transmit the richness of their culture and country while enjoying the discovery of new cultures by travelers motivated to lend a helping hand.
Benja takes care of all the administrative part, she is the one you contact first and if you have any questions she will answer you. Bijay takes care of the entire construction part.
We are at the very beginning and so we must be willing to play with our own comfort zone, even if we have most of the amenities necessary for vital needs.
Together we are looking for a great team to build our eco-community.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Here, the more there is a mixture of cultures, the better off we are.
You will be able to learn at the rhythm of Nepalese life. The on-site project is managed by a Nepalese who has also lived in Europe. He knows deeply the importance of respecting everyone's cultural values while transmitting as much as possible so that volunteers can learn and function with respect within the host country: Nepal.
You will be able to learn to cook Nepalese, learn the language, live in an international community and above all enjoy the magnificent landscapes that the Pokhara region offers.Help
For the moment we would like to welcome people wishing to get involved in construction:
- Construction of small houses with bamboo, earth, glass bottles
- Field adapter
- Build dry toilets
- Build a house for volunteers
- Build a collective kitchen and shower
And above all, as we are a collective, help us think about the project as a whole.
You are welcome to learn but also to transmit.

The main communication is English. When we are in a group, we want everyone to understand each other and will be asked to communicate in English. Furthermore, in a small committee, everyone uses the language they want and of course can ask Nepali volunteers on site for transmissions of the Nepali language.Accommodation
We are at the very beginning of the project.
We have a house for the volunteer but you can also stay in a tent. You will have you private space only if you go in the nature.
Take a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag.
There is already enough shelter from the sun and the rain.
We provide the lunch and the dinner. You will eat traditional food : Dal bhat, literally “rice with lentils”, is a traditional dish of Nepal, and also popular in Bangladesh and India. Dal bhat. It consists of white rice (bhat) and a bowl of lentil soup (dal) and most of the time also vegetables.
Obviously, if you want to cook, the kitchen is at your disposal and we are more than open for you to discover your traditional dishes from home. If you want to bring your own breakfast you can.
Donnation for the food is more than welcome. What else ...
We need hands, your motivation and your skills from all over the world. We are sorry but we just accept people who wants to stay at least one week no less. But most of all we are looking for people who really wants to invest the project as it could be their own and understand us about our vision of solidarity between eachother.
We are waiting for you with all possible openness to help us get started on our dream.A little more information
