Description
We live in a beautiful village near the Pont du Gard in southern France. We’re an Irish–Czech couple with a 4 year old boy, and we’ve been living in France for the past few years. We’re looking for some help maintaining our garden, which needs a bit of care and love. In exchange, we enjoy sharing good food, conversation, and a relaxed family atmosphere in a lovely part of France.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We’re pretty easygoing and usually eat together and chat, and you’re welcome to join in on any activities or plans we have as much or as little as you like. The village is calm without being isolated, with good walks and hikes nearby. The Pont du Gard is just up the road, and the lovely town of Uzès is not far away.
We’re happy to share what we’ve learned about life in France and why we enjoy living here so much.

Help
Our garden needs a bit of a fresh start, and we’re looking for someone to help get things moving. The tasks include weeding, power hosing, moving stones, and planting. We’ll be around to help but in between we will be busy with our own work, so it’s mainly about having someone motivated who’s happy to get stuck in and make a start. There’s no rush or pressure, just steady, practical outdoor work in a relaxed setting. The warmer weather has arrived and the swimming pool is up and running!

Accommodation
You’ll have a clean, comfortable ensuite room downstairs, which gives a good bit of privacy, as we mostly live upstairs. We’ll share meals together, and food will be provided as part of the stay. The days are starting to warm up and it's a really nice place to spend time outdoors.

What else ...
In your time off, there’s plenty to explore nearby. The Pont du Gard is just up the road, Uzès isn’t far, and Nîmes is reachable by bus. There are markets in most villages around here, as well as lots of good walking, hiking, and cycling routes, so it’s easy to get a feel for everyday French life.
Getting around is easiest with a car, but the bus connection makes day trips possible, and we’re happy to help with lifts now and then when it fits in.
