Description
We are living in the wonderfull "Heart of Galicia" - the center of the autonomic community of Galicia in the province of Lugo in the north-west of spain, ca. 120 km from the Atlantic ocean in the west and 120 km from the Biskaya (Mar Cantabrico) in the north away. To Portugal is almost about 100 km.
To reach us there is a busstation in Chantada (10 km), in Ourense (ca 40 km) a railwaystation and last not least in Vigo (110 km) and Santiago de Compostela (120 km) are airports.
Additional Busstations are in Lalin (50 km), Cea (35 km) and Cambeo (20 km), additional railwaystations are in Santiago de Compostela (120 km) and Lugo (80 km).
But dont worry from the cities above as Chantada, Lalin, Cea, Cambeo, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela and Lugo we can catch you with our car having enough space to carry you ad your luggage.
We are original from germany and bought 12 years ago a house close to Chantada (in the south of the province of Lugo) in a very small village surrounded by amazing nature. But still there is a lot to do. We, these are me (Alex 56), Michele (44) and our son Tim (16).
We do have 5 dogs ( one big 4 small), 3 cats, some birds - chickens too and some others (living in a terrarium), they do live inside of the main building (not i the caravan or the second house - as long as you close the doors propably).
Step by step we added some small spots of garden and a second smaller house.
Garden means for the moment ;
- place to relax with Pool and sauna
- herbs- and fruitgarden typ ala permakultur
- vegetablesgarden with a small greenhoause - ökological without any chemics
- future bath- and any purpose region (to be used for crabs and fishes and anyway to swim and
for water for toiletts)
- caravanspot (incl. caravan) with Hollywood swing, trampolin und outside table
- barbacue- and firespot
- terass in front of the Bodega (under construction)
- additional vegetablesgarden again ökological without any chemics ala permakultur
- parkingplace
- relax-armchairs , tabletennis ...
We want to keep on shaping our new home to be as independent, ökonomic, ökolgical and permanent as possible as long as there still is some comfort.
Wir leben im wunderschönen "Herzen Galiciens" - mitten in der autonomen Gemeinschaft Galicien, in der Provinz Lugo im Nordwesten von Spanien ca 120 km vom Atlantik im Westen und 120 km von der Biskaya im Norden entfernt. Nach Portugal sind es ebenfalls ca 100 km.
Um zu us zu gelangen gibt es in Chantada (10 km) eine Bushaltestelle, in Ourense (40 km) einen Bahnhof und schliesslich in Vigo (110 km) und Santiago de Compostela (120 km) jeweils einen Flughafen.
Zusätzliche Bushaltestellen/-bahnhöfe sid in Lalin (50 km), Cea (35 km) und Cambeo (20 km), zusätzliche Bahnhöfe (Zug) sind in Santiago de Compostela (120 km) und Lugo (80 km).
Aber keine Aufregung selbstverständlich können wir dich / euch von den o.a. Städten Chantada, Lalin, Cea, Cambeo, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela und Lugo mit unserem Auto mit genug Platz für euch und euer Gepäck auch abholen.
Ursprünglich kommen wir aus Deutschland und haben vor 12 Jahren ein Haus in der Nähe von Chantada (im Süden der Provinz Lugo) in einem kleinen Dorf m Sohit sehr viel wunderbarer Natur rundherum gekauft. Aber es ist noch jede Menge zu tun. Wir, das sind Ich (Alex 58) Michele (45) und unserem Sohn Tim (17).
Wir haben 5 Hunde ( ein grosser und 4 kleine), 3 Katzen, einige Vögel - auch Hühner und einige andere Tiere (in einem Terrarium), die Tiere leben auch im Haupthaus (nicht im Wohnwagen oder im zweiten Häuschen - sofern ihr immer schön die Türe schliesst.).
Nach und nach kam noch das ein oder andere Fleckchen Garten und ein zweites kleines Häuschen hinzu.
Der Garten besteht z.Z. aus;
- "Relaxbereich" mit Pool und Sauna
- Kräuter- und Obstgarten Typ Permakultur
- Gemüsegarten mit Gewächshäuschen ökologisch ohne Chemie
- zukünftiger Bade- und Nutzteich (zum Schwimmen und zur Nutzung als Krebs- und Fischteich sowie als Reservoir für
Brauchwasser)
- Caravanstellplatz (inkl. Wohnwagen) mit Schaukelliege, Trampolin und Tisch
- Grill- und Feuerplatz
- Terrasse vor Bodega (noch in Bau)
- zusätzlicher Gemüsegarten ebenfalls ökologisch ohne Chemie ala Permakultur
- Parkplatz
- Relaxsessel, Tischtennisplatte ...
Wir möchten unsere neue Heimat weiterhin nach ökonomischen, ökologischen und dauerhafte Prinzipien gestalten um so weit wie möglich unabhängig, ökonomisch und ökologisch leben zu können solange noch ein Mindestmass an Komfort erhalten bleibt.

Live is not just to work: There are amazing cities as Santiago de Compostela, Ouerense, Vigo, Lugo etc are just some of these interresting places, natural thermal wells, wonderfull nature exactly as in "Lord of the rings" (mountains, valleys, rivers and spooky mystic forests), the western Atlantic ocean and the Biskaya (Mar Cantabrica), hot thermal wells, wild animals as horses, amazing food and wine and last not least the friendly galician people.
Depending on the the type of project / task you can learn a lot. Additional we do have some experiences with seldom and subtropical plants and animals.
You could learn or practice the spanish language and or the galician and the german or english too. Visit with us or on your own some of the cultural attractions (at Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Ourense, Lugo) and or relaxing on some of the worlds most beautiful places as beaches (Rias Bajas, As Cathedrais at Rias altas), mountains and rivers (Rio Mino, Canon de Sil). See wild living horses additional the close vineyards and Bodegas of "Ribeira Sacra".
In general we try to involve our workawayers to our sozial live here in Spain / Galicia,
that means that usually if do have a barbaque or are invited to one you will be part of us if possible, if we are going to relax on a beach you will be suggested to take part, even, in case if it is possible, you can join us to visit another part of galicia maybe overnight.
All to let you know and ENJOY the way of galician social affairs-
Get involved in the livin galician culture and contact to the original inhabitants which is nearly impossible to prevent.
Es dreht sich nicht alles ums Arbeiten: erstaunliche Städte wie Santiago de Compostela, Ouerense, Vigo, Lugo etc sind einige dieser interresanten Orte, natürliche Thermalquellen, wunderbare Natur genau wie im Film "Herr der Ringe" (Berge, Täler, Flüsse und mystische Wälder), westlich der Atlantik und nördlich die Biskaya (Mar Cantabrica), heisse Thermen, wilde Tiere wie Pferde, Dachs, Wölfe und Ginsterkatzen, erstaunliches Essen und Weine und schliesslich und endlich die gastfreundliche galicischen Menschen.
Abhängig vo dem jeweilige Projekt / der jeweilige Arbeit können wir dir / euch einiges zeigen und sagen. Zusätzlich haben wir Erfahrungen mit seltenen und subtropischen Pflanzen und Tieren.
Sprachkenntnisse in Castillan und oder Galego sowie Deutsch und English können geübt, verbessert oder erworben werden. Besucht mit uns, oder selbständig, einige der kulturellen Attraktionen (in Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Ourense, Lugo) und oder Entspannung an einigen der schönsten Plätze der Welt wie Badestrände (in den Rias Bajas, As Cathedrais "Kathedralenstrand" in den "Rias Altas"), die wundervolle Bergwelt (mit wilden Pferden) und den Flüssen (Rio Mino, Canon de Sil) oder die galicische Küche sowie die in der Nähe liegenden Weinberge und Bodegas der "Ribeira Sacra".
Wir versuchen unsere Workawayer in unser soziales Leben hier in Spanien / Galicien einzubeziehen, d.h. dass wenn wir z.B. zum Grillen etc. seid Ihr normalerweise ebenfalls eingeladen, wenn wir beschliessen am Strad zu entspanen und baden zu gehen, werden wir euch fragen ob ihr mit wollt, falls wir einen Ausflug an einem weiter entfernten Ort in Galicien planen und / oder übernacht und sofern es möglich und machbar ist, könnt ihr gerne mitkommen.
Es liegt uns sehr am Herzen unseren Gästen/Workawayern das echte Galicien zu zeigen und dass euch euer Aufenthalt im Besten Sinne unvergesslich bleibt.
Kontakt zu heimischer Kultur und Bevölkerung ist sicher gestellt und lässt sich eigentlich fast nicht vermeiden.

Help
You don't have to be an expert, but TWO left hands aren't exactly helpful. There's still a few tasks to be done: including tidying up the pond and flowerbeds, weed control, helping with digging holes and filling them, etc.
If you know anything about the garden, or want to know anything, there's always someone there to listen to, and if you want to know anything about it, we'll be happy to share our knowledge :).
There's always weeds to pull in the gardens, harvesting...
There's an outside toilet and a sauna...
Ihr müsst keine Handwerker sein aber ZWEI linke Hände sind nicht grade förderlich. An Arbeiten ist noch vieles zu tun: u.a. Teich und Beete und pflegen, Unkrautbekämpfung, Hilfe beim Löcher buddeln und auffüllen usw..
Solltest du ihr irgendetwas über Garten wissen, oder wissen wollen wartet stets ein offenes Ohr, solltest du etwas darüber wissen wollen werden wir unser Wissen gerne teilen :).
In den Gärten ist immer Unkraut zu zupfen, Begrenzungen zu reparieren, zu ernten ......
Aussen -Klo und eine Sauna existieren ...

Accommodation
You will have a caravan and / or our second small house which is no longer under construction and / or, since our daughter got her own way, a room in our own house for your to sleep in is maybe available too. Both the caravan and the second small house is very close to our house and has each bed for two or more and a table. The main house has full equipment as electricity (in the caravan and the second small house too ) for light, fridege, coffeemachine, toaster etc. cold and hot water for shower and or bathtub, two toiletts, kitchen etc.. So the caravan and the second small house is almost just to sleep in or if you want to be on your own. The cuisine is either typical german (franconia) or local or more or less international and up to now just our own kids sometimes protested. If there are special needs with food as vegy or something else with your help we can take care of. We ar not Vegies ourselfs.
We never will protest if you want to help us in the kitchen preparing meals doing the dishes etc. - on the contrary .....
As you are used to you will get one to three meals per day, we expect that we will have dinner together. Alcohol, tabak und Sweets are not included!!! The same is about hygiene articles.
Towels usal or for bath you dot need to have. It is possible by asking to use our washig machine and dryer.
Als Schlafplatz gibt es einen Wohnwagen und / oder unser zweites Häuschen das beteits reoviert ist und / oder seit unsere Tochter "selbständig" ist evtl. ein eigenes Zimmer in unserem Haus. Der Wohnwagen sowie das zweite Häusche befinden sich direkt bei unserem Haus und bieten jeweils mindestens zwei Schlafplätze und einen Esstisch oder entsprechend mehr Schlafplätze. Im Haupt-Haus ist alles vorhanden Strom (auch im Wohnwagenund im zweiten Häuschen ) für Licht Kühl- und Gefrierschrank, Kaffemaschine etc. Heizung Warm/Kaltwasser für Dusche und Badewanne, zwei Toiletten, Küche usw. Der Wohnwagen und das zweite Häuschen dienen also rein zur Übernachtung oder als Rückzugsmöglichkeit. Unsere Küche beinhaltet sowohl deutsche (fränkische) als auch regionale Kost oder auch international und bisher haben sich nur unsere eigenen Kinder beschwert :) . Falls besondere Bedürfnisse in Bezug auf das Essen bestehen - so wie Veggy oder ähnliches können wir uns mit euch zusammen darum kümmern. Wir selbst sind keine Vegetarier.
Wir beschweren uns nie über Hilfe in der Küche zb beim Kochen, Abwaschen etc. - ganz im Gegenteil ...
Ihr bekommt, je nachdem wie ihr es gewohnt seid, ein bis drei Mahlzeiten am Tag, Wir erwaten dass wir gemeisam zu Abendessen. Alkohol, Tabak und Nascherei sind nicht inbegriffen!!!! Das gleiche gilt für persöliche Hygieneartikel. Hand- und Badetücher sind vorhaden. Waschmaschine und Trockner kann auf Nachfrage mitbeutzt werden.

We will spent you the place to sleep and what you need to be feeded. We expect you to help us for more or less 4 to 5 hours from monday to friday - weekend free. We expect persons self responsable, independent working and flexible.There is place for up to four persons, single parents or just parents with child are welcome, too.
It is important to you to have a valid passport, health insurance (SPAIN !!!) and maybe a liability insurance.
For the passport and the health insurance we will ask for a copy !!!
Additional Agreemets and questions are not just welcome but REQUIRED.
Wir stellen Kost und Logie, Wir erwarten Hilfe für ca 4 bis 5 Stunden täglich von Montag bis Freitag. Wochenende ist Freizeit. Wir erwarten eine selbständig arbeitende, eigenverantwortliche und flexible Persönlichkeit. Platz ist für bis zu vier Personen gerne auch Eltern oder Alleinerziehend mit Kind.
Es ist wichtig dass ihr einen gültigen Personalausweis / Reisepass und eine Krankenversicherung (Spanien Europa !!!) sowie eventuell eine Haftpflichtverischerung habt.
Vom Ausweis und der Krankenversicherung erwarten wir eine Kopie !!!
Mit uns kann und SOLL man über alles reden.
