Description
Our home is a remote paradise in the midi-pyrenees, set in the Haut- Languedoc National Park, surrounded by forests, mountains, hills, lakes and nature. It is a bit like living in a Disney movie, abundant wildlife with butterflies floating, bees buzzing, lizards scurrying, birds singing, and French dormice squeaking...the property is large and consists of 4 buildings set on 6.5 hectares surrounded by forest and meadows. We are walking distance to a 14km lake. Two buildings are renovated and two are waiting to be transformed into our dreams. We hope to make this place a cool, inclusive destination for creatives to visit and create, an artist residence, an eco-destination, and a digital detox (don't worry we have superfast Starlink internet and 4g when needed but we don't spend much time using it ! ) . We are both semi-retired from decades in the creative industries of UK and Australia. Heather was and still is a photographer and Guy a producer. We have both travelled extensively and bring a wealth of this cultural knowledge into our home, both via the food we eat, the skills we have learnt and the passion we have for creating a healthy and happy space.
We have a good sense of humour, are hard working and driven individuals who like to finish our day with a home cooked organic meal and a glass of our lovely local wine!
We have a large heated swimming pool to enjoy until the end of October, outdoor and indoor wood fires to cosy up and lots of tracks to walk boasting dramatic scenery. There are plenty of local towns and markets to visit. Plus 1 hour 15min drive to the Mediterranean coast.
Ideally we are seeing couples and / or friends travelling together, we have three spare bedrooms , two double and one single.Types of help and learning opportunities

You will be enjoying French life although we are not French, perhaps it would suit travelers who wish to improve their English skills, we eat organic food and grow a most of our own vegetables, we would like to meet people who are interested in gardening, health and nature. Heather has been studying nutrition and health for 35 years. If you are interested in stills and moving image creation we both have had successful careers in this industry. Guy is in to anything DIY and we have a compehensive workshop with tools for all our mantainance, if you like DIY.
Help
With winter around the corner and with so much on our 'to do' list we need extra hands to help us get things done, before the weather closes in. Our list includes re-painting windows, gardening, wood chopping and stacking, plastering, re-pointing stone walls, gravel raking, tiling kitchen backsplash, fitting lights, mowing, installing gutter-guards, installing water tanks, clearing brambles, prepping and clearing the two unrenovated buildings.

Love to improve our frenchAccommodation
The house is an oasis of modern bohemian chic luxury decor and consists of three comfortable double bedrooms and one smaller bedroom room with two bunk beds. There are two toilets and two bathrooms. Food is always healthy and organic and there will be breakfast and a main evening meal a day eaten together. Lunch will consist of a help yourself buffet of local produce. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten and dairy free can be catered for.
What else ...
There are lots of walks and lake activities, there is no local transport so this would suit travelers with cars or who are seeking a remote location, if you have no vehicle then there are plenty of opportunities to come with us to local towns on the market and shopping days where there are cafes, we also like to introduce visitors to local sites of interest. Days off can also be spent by the pool, reading, walking and enjoying nature.
