    Description

We are based on a multi faceted farm at the gateway to the Transkei near East London. We have a heard of boran cattle, a small plantation of macadamia trees and a small custom sawmilling operation currently milling and drying timber on the farm. In addition there are 2 BNB lodgings on the farm. We have a perma-veggie garden that needs reviving and hands to keep it going. There is a need for gardeners, carpenters and interested, passionate individuals wanting to contribute and learn in general are welcome. We are close to beautiful beaches and the farm hosts an array of beautiful indigenous trees and large beautiful non-invasive exotic specimens, which makes it a pleasure to go on walks and enjoy the farm. We strive to work with the elements and are creating sustainable infrastructure by repurposing old farm infrastructure. The fertile soil on the farm provides a nursery like environment for indigenous trees to spring up through the propagation of the abundance of bird species present. The calls of fish eagles are often heard as the circle over head as we are situated between two rivers.

We have 3 permanent staff members that have various baseline responsibility and thereafter assist with various projects that require help. The responsibility include managing the cattle, watering macadamia trees, sorting through recycling and packaging, garden and lawn maintenance, building maintenance, renovations, clearing invasive a and weeds.

We occasionally bring in 2 or 3 extra helpers if we need more help.

We are passionate about integrated farming both with different farming practices as well farm living. We have a herd of boran stud that graze amongst indigenous bush and nut trees.

There is a small wood working shop starting up where travellers may practice their skills. We are building small wooden cabins that will become accomodation for people like yourself eventually. There is much old farm infrastructure requiring restoration.

There is work in design and implementation of water systems that we are developing. There is a soon to be landscape architect currently working in drawings etc.

You may help along side our local staff depending on the project at hand.

Our staff come from local communities as well as further a field. We would like to create opportunities of upliftment for our surrounding communities by providing sorta of education's that dovetail with what we do on the farm. The farm provides a platform for many opportunities yet to be explored.

Your skills and experience in these fields to assist with implementation and education would be welcomed.
