    Help

Firstly from October 1st until October 14th (2020) we are looking for volunteers to help with the shutting down of the hostel. This basically means deconstructing some beds, moving things out, general deconstruction. In this project you would be staying at the hostel, but there will not be guests there, although there may be other volunteers.

Whenever that project is finished we have a personal project of ours that we are looking for a couple volunteers help on a follow up project. We are building a tiny home and renovating our current home! That will run from mid-October until February or March '21, and we are looking for people that can commit a month somewhere in there. The work would be construction and general labor mainly - no experience necessary as we would aim to teach as we went. In this project you would be staying at our personal home in the Bywater (with a semi-private room, and all utilities, wifi etc.)

For both of these projects we would be looking for around 5 hours per day (not Sunday).

Please let me know if either of those interest you and we can talk more!

New Orleans is a wonderful place filled with charm, rich history, diverse culture, world class music and art. It is a city with a feeling. Living here you will be able to get a local sense and enjoy its lively, free spirited always fun nature. Located near the hostel are amazing bars, restaurants and shops along with museums galore. This town loves its liberal arts and will be a great time to let your creative mind shine. We are located four blocks from the street car (trolley, tram) which is a nostalgic piece of New Orleans that takes you all around town for $3 a day. There will be bikes provided as well. We are 4 blocks from the Central Business District and 14 blocks to the famous French Quarter! There is music all around, so musicians and music enthusiasts a like will never have a shortage of good tunes and great vibes. I can't stress enough how amazing the energy is here. The culture is to simply Les Bon Temps Rouller (Let the good times roll).

The OG's! A few outstanding volunteers taking out some of our all time favorite guests on a night out to Frenchmen street for live music and libations.
Two hostel volunteers taking advantage of their FREE tours because they work here at the hostel. Take it to the outdoors and experience the swamps up close and personal on a guided kayak tour.
The Mardis Gras crew of 2018! They will forever be remembered and cherished!
A group of amazing travelers gracing us with their loving and energetic presence in the hostel shared kitchen space.
Another one of myself and the A team on Queen V's last night enjoying wine and company in the common room of the hostel.
Me and my long time friend Ernest, a former hostel volunteer who ended up relocating to New Orleans after his stay because he just couldn't get enough of us! He is also our honorary bike guy!
Myself and a mixed group of guests and volunteers at the Nyx's all female parade during the Mardis Gras festival season! I hosted a potluck at my place on the parade route for all to come and enjoy in the festivities!
Another set of fun and lively volunteers from all over the globe on Julie's parting day!
Myself and 4 INCREDIBLE volunteers having a fancy all vegan dinner lead by our lovely Ariane or our Queen Victoria's parting night.
We love hosting family dinners for the staff and all of our guests. Nothing brings people together like food and wine!
Lovely guests hanging out in our shared courtyard space under the fairy lights!
The front/main common space of the hostel. The hostel is set in a 117 year old historical home on famous Magazine Street. It has tons of character and charm.
The first group of guests I had the pleasure of hosting. I was on cloud 9 because of how amazing and loving these people that walk through the hostels doors are. Forever thankful.
