    Description

We are Oriane and Renaud, parents of Eliott (4 yo) and Prune (2 yo). When Eliott was born we fled to live in a farm in Morocco for a year and 2 years ago we totally changed our lives to be closer to nature and slow ourselves down. We bought an old farm in a small village of the south of France, with a big garden full of various trees. We want to move forward autonomy. The first goals are too make the house more sustainable and to set up a garden using permaculture techniques we mostly learned in Morocco. We are used to living in community and are happy to meet and learn from people wherever they come from.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Learning : Renaud is a carpenter and has a passion for permaculture, so if you're into building activities or gardening you'll find plenty of things to talk about with him. Oriane is a teacher and has travelled around the world before settling here. She speaks english, spanish and french, which makes it easier to welcome people from different places.
We live in the south of France, in the middle of the Landes forest, in a small village. The local traditions are still very strong here and the nature around is wonderful. We are located 45 minutes away from the beach (Basque coast) and an hour and a half from the mountains.

We recently bought an 18th century farm in the south of France. The place is great, it is very authentic and our project is to turn it into a eco friendly house while keeping all the traditional architecture that makes it so special. Renaud is a carpenter so he's in charge of most of the renovation. The garden is big with a lot of fruit trees that have been abandoned the last twenty years, they need care. We are also starting a garden using permaculture techniques. We have two kids and we enjoy seeing them meet people from all over the word. Having woofers over is an amazing experience for us. We like to share experiences and learn from each others. So if you are into renovation and builiding activities, gardening or child care you are very welcome to stay with us for a little while.

    Accommodation

We have two available rooms which are in a little cabin outside the house so you can have your privacy. Still the only functional bathroom is in the main house.
Workawayers have access to the house of course and you can either cook for yourself or share meals with us. We source most of our food locally (the neighbors are mostly farmers) until we get our garden working. Oriane loves to cook and have people over. The house is big so there is enough space for you to make yourself comfortable.
