Description
Help out an American expat with a small farm near Taormina on the exotic island of Sicily. Located in the countryside between two small villages (Trappitello and Gaggi), just 10 minutes from the lovely beaches of Giardini Naxos and the beautiful Gole Alcantara.
My family includes 2 dogs, 2 outdoor cats, 2 Sardinian donkeys, 2 goats, and 4 hens. The farm is about 2 acres, full of vegetable gardens, olive and citrus trees and flowers.
The property also includes a bocce ball court, terraces, BBQ, outdoor pizza oven, fire pit and hiking trails.
I speak English, and am still learning Italian.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We are looking for an individual or couple to help out on our small hobby farm. Must be fluent in English.
The work includes daily farm chores, animal tending, weed whacking, garden prep, tree trimming, and any other task associated with a farm. Prefer someone familiar with using tools.
Most of the work will be outdoors, but some indoors as well.
Must love animals and nature, must be quiet and responsible and not a heavy drinker. No smokers.
You will stay in a guestroom within our villa, where we also live. You can use our kitchen, living room, laundry facilities and outdoor spaces. Some meals provided. You will have air conditioning, wifi, and your own bathroom.
We are 3 km from town where you can catch a bus. We also have a bicycle you can use.
References and video interview required. We can work out details, once we know you're interested.Languages

What else ...
Here, you can experience everything from small village flea markets and festivals to large scale tourist attractions like the Greek Theater, hiking at the Alcantara Gorge River Park, Mt Etna wineries, and more. The seaside town of Giardini-Naxos has many shops and outdoor cafes. The hilltop city of Taormina has even more!
There is a bus station and train station nearby. Two villages (Trappitello and Gaggi) are about 3 km away, with groceries, post office, etc. We are in the peaceful countryside, but close to town and the beaches and there's a lovely restaurant within walking distance called Le Arcate.A little more information
