UPDATE: Our schedule is full until end of December.
Please check our profile page from time to time for updates.

    Dear fellow Japan lovers,

We are a french family living in Tokyo, Japan. We like traveling, meeting new people, and introducing various cultures to our twin daughters, 8yo. We are all English speaking (including the girls, at more than beginner level).
In addition, we enjoy acting in the interests of our planet, its inhabitants, its wealth, and getting involved in sustainable projects.

Our apartment is located in one of Tokyo's Northern wards, Itabashi-ku, and has a large roof terrace complete with outdoor bath and sky garden. There we grow vegetables, herbs, and so on.

What we are looking for, is an english-speaking person that can help us with the kids and around the house, as we are very busy working on our next eco project around Asia.

    You are expected to :
    - get the girls back from school
    - help them practice English (no teaching, just daily conversation)
    - watch over them doing homework (no help needed though)
    - have all kind of fun with them
    - cook a bit if you're in the mood
    - help for housekeeping

What you get in exchange is :
    - becoming a member of our family during your stay here (you can join our week-end trips if you like, etc...)
    - lodging, breakfast and dinner
    - a bicycle (to go to school and to explore the surroundings)
    - free wifi
    - lots of board games, books
    - japanese learning material

But the most important thing is that you get new friends who are as enthusiastic as you about Asian (and Japanese) culture.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Being French and based in Japan, you get the benefit of a double cultural shock with just one trip. I know, that's awesome. We can also help you learn Japanese if you like, or French, as long as you help our girls practice English.

Being based in Tokyo, this is probably one of the best spots to discover Japan. Within 30mns by bicycle, you can reach Akihabara, as well as the rice paddies along the Arakawa river.

We also have a treasure trove of Japanese learning material for all kind of levels, which you are more than welcome to borrow and browse through while you stay with us.

A typical day starts... whenever you get up, with free time until School pickup.
School ends at 3:30PM, and you would be taking care of the girls until around 7PM.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will be staying in a small room on the first flor. It has enough space for your bed and a desk.
There also is a walk-in closet, with adjacent toilets for your own use. The main living quarters are 2 floors up.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

As you could understand from everything stated above, during your free time, you can (you MUST !) explore Tokyo, and Japan, learn Japanese, befriend other like-minded people you will meet around school, or just procrastinate in one of the biggest cities in the world. It's your choice.

We are quite flexible regarding "work" schedule and are willing to support your off time activities in any way we can.

The house is easily reached by major rail lines (both train and subway) and the Ikebukuro shopping district is a mere 15 mins away by bicycle.
