Description
We are an Australian Family of 5, living in the Sth of France (and elsewhere). Our kids are in Middle and Elementary School. My husband is an Academic and I’m an artist. We are learning French but we would still consider ourselves beginners. Our home is over 400 years old and is on one hectare overlooking a medieval village and we are surrounded by lavender fields, forests and mountains. . There a beautiful hikes you can take from our front doorstep, and we have lovely neighbors. Our village is only a 5 minute walk and the larger supermarket is 5 mins drive. Public transport goes through our village too. During our time in France we like to hike, swim, spend time outdoors, visit villages, we do gardening and projects around the property.
We have a 2 storey gite waiting for you, with 2 bedrooms, a loft, lounge/dining room, kitchen (stove, microwave, sink dishwasher) and bathroom. The laundry is in another part of the house that you will of course have access to.
We have a lovely pool and pool house as well as a pétanque court. We are very competitive!Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
We are looking for native French speakers from France because we want to develop the traditional accent, with intermediate / fluent English who would like to stay over the summer and speak French with us to help us learn, whilst we holiday at home over the summer. We will be doing normal house projects, and we are happy for you to join us in these activities as well as helping out around the house. We will need help around the home from cleaning , laundry, cooking. And sometimes in the garden, such as weeding or collecting firewood.
If you can teach children a musical instrument such as guitar, ukulele or keyboard, this is a bonus!
But we dont need child care.
We have three children who love hiking, swimming, outdoors as well as screen time so you’d need to enjoy being around kids. They are pre-teens.
It would be great if you had your own transport as our car is full with our family of five, but we have bikes available.Languages
