  • Description

The land is in the beautiful Picota hills near Monchique.
We are a couple in our fifties, who came here in 2012, rather on the quiet spiritual tantric meditation yoga side than partying.

The vision is: create an organic gardening paradise and to lead the land back to its natural state by removing the eucalyptus and planting fruit trees.

We operate solar system, photovoltaic, regenerative heating, water and sewerage system and organic farming and chicken.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our guests definitely will learn what it means, to put a sustainable way of living into practice.

This might be very personal, but when I work in the forest in midst of nature alls this stillness, oxygen and sunlight and breathtaking view to the sea, I feel profoundly being part of nature and creation itself. Time flows and stays still at the same time. Making this piece of land a better place for me is pure bliss. It is the pinnacle of how good life can be at all.

If things are right, we often gather all together in the hot outside pool watching falling stars, which is an unforgettable experience.

Sometimes we invite to participate in guided meditation (Quantum Light Vipassana, Karunesh Heart Chakra etc.)
If you have interest or experience in tantra, we might invite you to share our tantric rituals.

Yoga is available in the buddhist monastery in walking distance.

Different types of work are available:

Johannes does the forest work. He offers
    - cutting trees and moving them out of the forest. Access streets are close and trees are small. Still hard work.
    - making fire to burn branches (much fun)
    - cutting and preparing firewood
    - building paths and stairs in the land
    - building workawayers cabins and kitchen
    - concrete, wood, brick and stone construction
    - roofing, windows, heating, electric
    - workshop and machinery
With Johannes you will have a good workout.
We also have a tractor which makes work much easier.

Ines does the work on the organic terraces. She offers
    - gardening in the vegetable terraces
    - removal of weed
    - install irrigation systems
    - help in the house
    - replace eukalyptus with fruit trees on terraces
    - take care of the chicken

  • Accommodation

Until the workawayers cabins are built, helpers will share the guest apartment of the main building.
It has a hot shower and floor heating and is very cozy in the winter
(note: since it is part of our private house, we ask you, to keep it tidy)

A kitchen with cooker and refrigerator is available, so you can do your meals as you like.
We provide food. Usually we visit the local organic farmers market once a week.
(note: alcohol, body lotion and sun creme is not considered being food)

There is one curtain-separated room with a double-bed for couples and the other living-room-with-kitchen has a bunk bed, so a maximum of four people will fit in.

Experience has shown, that many workawayers enjoy being together with others, so we try to arrange more than one party being there at a time. It can get packed with four people rarely (especially when we rescue people out of tents in winter), and sometimes you might be the only one with us.

There is a patio with hammock and table for outside eating.

UMTS coverage is good, so with your smart phone you will have internet access.
No smoking, no drugs, no pets.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can enjoy the awesome sea view, stillness on this peaceful piece of earth.

The landscape is breathtaking, there is great hiking and the famous Via Algarviana runs directly through our land.
If you love beautiful calm sunsets with nightingales, this is the right place.

With a car the south coast is 25 minutes, the west coast in about 40 minutes

Public transport is available at Caldas de Monchique bus station, which is about 5 km from our place.
This is the spot where we pick you up and bring you back to.
