    Description

We are a German/Irish family w 4 young children who live on a family farm. We have had lots of Aupairs and students over the years to help us with our busy family, animals, gardens and general farm maintenance. Your duties will include feeding livestock (lambs, chickens and pigs), looking after the vegetable patches, maintenance work indoors and outdoors, maintaining the garden, walking the dogs, etc.
We are field sport enthusiasts, we are always keen to share our love of all Wicklow wild foods with our travelers. We have always offered travelers a warm, fun welcome to Ireland. Our experience is mostly with German travelers in the past, and we have always enjoyed the language exchanges. NOTE: Accommodation suitable for 2 travelers!

We are a bilingual German/Irish family loving living in the countryside. David is Irish and grew up on the land, he loves getting stuck into work and play in the outdoors in every way. Alex is German and loves her vegetables, animals (and her family). Our 4 children are ages 14 and younger. They are always keen to meet travelers and will help you settle into your stay here.

    Help

We have an established our vegetable garden, which includes some outdoor patches as well as a polytunnel. We are forever digging patches as well as doing maintenance work of feeding, watering, etc.
We also require help with feeding our animals which include chickens, a few pigs, and our dogs.
Further, we sometimes may ask for help with general house work and child minding.
And if you are a native German speaker, we are always excited to hear you speak German to our children to help them practice.

While it is useful to have some previous experience with most tasks we are very happy to help you learn while we do.
NOTE: Our place is ideally suited to 2 WorkAway travelers staying together.

You are always welcome into our house where we have Wifi access and TV. We live 5km from Brittas Bay beach, 8km from beautiful historic Wicklow Town, Kilmacurragh Arboretum, Glendalough, trains to Dublin and other fab amenities. You can walk on the farm and in the local forestry. Bicycle available. And we can work out lifts to Wicklow.
We are a busy family and tend to be away in the mornings. Afternoons are filled with homework, cooking, children's hobbies, etc. They like mountain biking, hockey, tennis, football, swimming, arts and general play. Your job is mostly working on the land or in the gardens, but we always welcome you into the house. Alex will give you a hand when she is around, but you will also be asked to work away on your own. You will never be bored with so many people around.
