Our little farmstead near the North Sea coast, Wangerland, Germany

  Description

  We, Michèle (34 biologist / environmental education) and Philipp (32 career Firefighter and bicycle mechanic) bought an old farm near the German North Sea cost a few years ago.
  Our goal is, to get self-sufficient and build an oasis of biodiversity.
  We have already built a meadow orchard and build habitats for Insects and birds...
  Beside us there are two other people, 6 sheep, 5 chicken, 6 ducks and 3 cats living on our little farmstead.
  We live a Vegetarian / Vegan lifestyle, our animals are not slaughtered.
  
  We need help with:
  
  - Gardening
  - Renovating the house
  - Landscaping
  - feeding the animals
  - harvesting and conservating food (marmelade, pickles, vine, juice, herbs...)
  - precessing the wool of our sheep and felt it
  - implement projects like
  --- building a roof terrace on top of a shipping container
  --- building a clay pizza oven in the garden
  --- constructing a greenhouse from an old shipping container
  --- ...
  
  What we can offer:
  
  - We have a dedicated apartment for our guests.
  - if you have a camper van or caravan, we have a nice spot where you can stay and can provide electric power and water.
  
  What we can't/won't offer:
  
  - We do both work so we can't have all meals together, and we can't work together all the time
  - We don't want you to bring pets because we have had bad experiences (incompatibility with our animals) (maybe a cockatoo or goldfish would be okay :-p - please ask us in advance)
  - no kids under ~12 years (it's not that we don't like kids, but it didn't work well in the past)
  
  What we expect:
  
  - Open minded people regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, color of skin, origin ....
  - the ability to communication in english or german at least on a basic level.
  - ability and willingness to be and work on your own a part of the time

  We are still learning, you can participate in this learning process. We would love to learn about YOUR culture and veg recepies from your origin. We can try to teach traditions of germany and the frisian culture. We can show you the wadden sea (Michèle is a professional wadden sea tour guide).

  We want you to clean the volunteer appartment befor you leave.

  Accommodation

  We have a dedicated volunteer apartment with two bedrooms for two persons each. With an own full equiped kitchen, livingroom and bathroom. Smoking is not allowed inside the house!

  What else ...

  We are located around 5 km from the coast, 12 km from a nice beach. Public transport is not perfect here but we can lend you bicycles. If there is no bus connection we can try to pick you up at the nearest train station (Jever).
