    Description

Hello! I'm Regitania. I am a native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia and speak English as my second language. I currently live in Lampung province, in the southernmost part of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
I am teacher in a private school called school, located in a town in the middle of the province, Kota Metro.
Here, around 52 staffs are employed and most of them are teachers, some are counselors and psychologists. We work in one school zone, yet different divisions. There are Nursery and Kindergarten division, Elementary (Primary) School and Junior High ( Middle ) School.
Our school strives to realize the vision of creating a generation that grows and lives in diversity, and that's how our school environment was created. Very multicultural and diverse. Our students are diverse in terms of cultural background, customs, ethnicity, religion, etc.
We're looking forward to establish a cooperation with any English native speaker volunteer to support our students in improving their English and in same time getting more contact and interaction in a global and multicultural community.

Our town, where this school located, is highly promoting diversity. We would welcome and support to you to more new experience of cultural exchange. The town is located in crossing area where you may head to one of the biggest nation wide elephant conservation area, Way Kambas national park. It needs less than 40 minutes to reach the airport, 1-2 hours to beautiful beaches head to southest part of the island. Since Indonesia is not an English-speaking country, you may have a limited communication in English with the locals, but we hope you can take an advantage to learn bahasa Indonesia and probably local language, cheers!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Since the town becomes a destination to study (we have some universities here), accomodation is also important needs. We could find a place for you to stay, close to the school, where it would be safe for you and support your interaction to community in gaining multicultural experience. Local groceries and mini convenience store providing your daily needs, mostly open from 6 am - 9 pm, there are few even open 24/7.

The food is provided 3x / day (regular food time). The host usually provides local home cooking meals. But there are plenty of options that can be your alternatives. Workawayers may have online meals ordered or dine-in, if Workawayers are willing to have it from their personal budget.

    What else ...

well, it's probably a small town, but nice. Our people are friendly. We have some attraction like the central park at the town square where it's also nearby the central mosque and not so far away from there, a church (which I personally love because it is representing diversity). So many delicacy worth to try, sweet, savory, spicy, local taste to global brand, no worry. It's also quite cheap, yet nice food we have here. You may spend 3-4 USD a day (might be cheaper in some area, depends on the product and your demand), complete meals, full & happy all long day. Our local coffee shops could be nice pick to stop by and chill for the coffee lover. Online taxi-car and taxi-motorbike is very popular. But in weekend or early morning, it'll be nice to cycling around.
