    Description

Join our family in a small village and help us with a lot of things which are left undone since we renovate our house piece by piece, love our hobbys, beeing in nature and having two kids.
We, Carsten who is 33 years old and Melanie, 32 years and our two kids (almost 3 and <1 year). Carsten works as a market researcher for a large supermarket chain and Melanie as a develop engineer, but currently on parental leave.

love traveling and enjoy nature as much as we can and would love to enjoy your company and help.

Since we are a new member on this plattform we don't have any experience but everyone starts small. Melanie was an aupair in the US and did a lot of travelling in the US and Europe so we look forward to the exchange and the company with you. We are curious to meet new people, satisfy our wanderlust, share and exchange knowledge and stories, and get to know you!

Carsten is passionate about his coffee and can teach you how to make the best pizza dough (even though he is not italian). Melanie has so many interests that it's hard to say, where she is really, really good at^^ From gardening, trying to to do a lot of DIY renovations, cooking vegetarian/vegan, baking so that our son can eat it without a guilty conscience (he is almost 3 years old), taking care of the kids, meditating.
You can experience the "typica" lifestyle of a German-Polish family.

Together we can teach you for example how to climb, how to cuddle our cat the most and more...
We can also help you with learning German if you want and we are happy to try to speak other languages as well. Both of us speak English and Melanie a bit polish.

Besides we are curious to get to know you and happy to learn from you!

There are many different things we can do together or alone. So how you can help us depends on what we're working on and, of course, your interests.
Just let us know what you are interested in, what you already know and what you would like to learn.

  • Help

    Help

We live in a 180m² house with a property size of 800m² which is manageable in the amount of projects but still have a lot of ideas what we want to change/build/create.
We`d love to get help to build a new gardenhouse, paint the garage extension, being creative in renovating the upper floor, finishing the romp and sport corner in the basement, redesign the garden for more eatable plants, looking for the best place in the garden for the hammock(s), teach Melanie and our son playing piano or ukulele or talking polish and much more.
Carsten's father is a staircase carpenter and his studio/garage is just two streets away, in case we need some tasks done on big machines.

Our village has a good local public transportation to the bis cities around us and on the other side a lot of farms, a beatiful landscape, a Quarry pond (unfortunately it's not allowed to swim and it's fenced in), a golf course and castle.

    Accommodation

You will stay with us in our house, which has some available rooms since the kids don't have their own ones yet. You`ll get your own room wih your own bathroom there. We have a cat which is inside and outside the house.

You can join us for all meals or feel free or grab something from the fridge. We try to eat our meals together as often as possible, which is workdays in the evening and on weekends.
We eat late lunch at 6pm and on Weekends we have breakfast around 10am.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Depending on the projects, we need help during the week or on the weekend when Carsten is not working. But it also depends on your wishes.
In your freetime you can stay here, join Melanie with the kids in the garden or playground or an activity or she can show you around and plan the day with you, visit this area or big cities close by like Düsseldorf, Cologne, Aachen and the neighboring country Netherlands.
On weekdays Carsten is working, in the evening going to soccer training and climbing and puts our son the bed
and Melanie takes care of the kids of which the older one goes to daycare. So Melanie is doing the most tasks in the house/garden on workdays during the day or together on weekends. On weekends we enjoy our freetime the most as possible with our kids as long as no large projects are pending.

You are more than welcome to join us for every meal and activity on weekdays and weekends.
