This is a ideal place to rest and recharge giving you a chance to further your DIY skills and contribute to the development of a wellness retreat. The locals are very friendly and happy to speak which would give you the opportunity to brush up on your Spanish. It is a very simple, relaxed way of live here where you would benefit from the rural lifestyle and mix with the local residence. I would be happy to show you the area and explore places of natural interests with you. I have listed below information of places of interest in this area of which there are many.

    Help

I need help in all areas of building/DIY jobs from plastering, painting, tiling and electrical work so some skilled work is necessary. At all times I would be working alongside you but as well as the physical help I need I would be open to any ideas and energy you could bring to help develop this project. The house is quite large and consists of two three bedroomed apartments, outside terrace and large garage. I would like to make the roof space in to a open terrace which would mean water proofing the walls as they are very porous. Any large jobs I would be employing the local tradesman at such times

    Local attractions and interests
Exploring Extremadura is a journey into the heart of old Spain, from the country’s finest Roman ruins to mysterious medieval cities and time-worn villages. Mérida, Cáceres and Trujillo rank among Spain's most beautifully preserved historical settlements.
Extremeño hamlets have a timeless charm, from the remote northern hills to sacred eastern Guadalupe and seductive Zafra on the cusp of Andalucía in the south.
Extremadura has three sites which have the UNESCO World Heritage designation. In Mérida, its capital, visitors should not miss exploring its archaeological site, which every summer is used as the venue for a major theatre festival. The historic quarter of the city of Cáceres is also well worth a visit, as is the Royal Monastery of Santa María de Guadalupe in the surrounding area.
Few foreign travellers make it this far. Spaniards, however, know Extremadura as a place to sample some of inland Spain's best food: roasted meats, the pungent, creamy Torta del Casar cheese and one of Spain’s most highly prized cured Ham’s.
This is a region of broad blue skies and vast swathes of sparsely populated land with isolated farmhouses and crumbling hilltop castles. And yet, city sophistication fills Mérida and Cáceres, while the raptor-rich Parque Nacional de Monfragüe is arguably Extremadura's most dramatic corner.
The area is very important for wildlife, particularly with the major reserve at Monfragüe, which was designated a National Park in 2007.
Extremadura is home to over 400 different species of bird of prey, including Golden Eagles, and Vultures, making the area’s spectacular scenery a favourite attraction for birdwatchers.
Additionally the area is well known for its Carp Fishing, Rambling and Sailing
